Job Summary:

If you are an EHS Professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity role for you! This opportunity as EHS Engineer/Senior Engineer at our Mahindra World City, Chengalpattu, PRM BU Site, has to Direct, organize and control all Environmental Affairs, occupational Health, and Safety functions, to support site manufacturing operations and sales & service functions.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Conduct daily factory walkthroughs to identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions; train, motivate, and engage office and shopfloor employees to report hazards; track corrective actions and ensure timely closure.
  • Lead accident, incident, near-miss, and first-aid case investigations; perform root cause analysis and ensure timely reporting as per company requirements.
  • Coordinate with site EHS teams to implement sustainability initiatives focused on zero emissions, energy conservation through energy hunt program, waste reduction, and environmental performance improvement.
  • Identify, propose, and implement EHS improvement projects related to employee safety, ergonomics, operator fatigue reduction, and workplace health enhancement.
  • Plan, coordinate, and support EHS awareness programs and events, including National Safety Day, Earth Month, Environment Day, Health & Wellness activities, and other corporate initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Asia Pacific and Global EHS teams to review risk alerts, share best practices, and ensure effective horizontal deployment and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems; coordinate internal and external audits, track non-conformities, and ensure timely closure.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with all applicable environmental, health, safety, and statutory regulations and maintain compliance records.
  • Implement and sustain Emerson EHS policies, procedures, standards, and corporate requirements across all factory operations.
  • Prepare EHS metrics, reports, and presentations; actively participate in and present site performance during regional and global EHS review meetings.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to achieve EHS objectives, improve operational safety performance, and support business sustainability goals.

  • Conduct machine safety audits, pressure system and stored energy assessments, and maintain EHS records, training matrices, risk assessments, audit findings, and compliance documentation to ensure regulatory and corporate EHS compliance.

  • Lead HIRA, JSA, and Environmental Aspect & Impact Assessment activities to identify hazards and risks, establish effective control measures, and ensure safe and environmentally responsible operations

  • Manage contractor EHS activities by ensuring contractor onboarding, safety induction, competency verification, work permit compliance, risk assessments, worksite monitoring, and adherence to company and statutory EHS requirements.

  • Plan and conduct emergency mock drills, maintain emergency preparedness, and ensure all firefighting equipment and systems are regularly inspected, tested, maintained, and kept in operational readiness.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Minimum 5 years to maximum 8 years of working experience required in EHS role.

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skill.

  • National certified safety engineer ISO14001 or OSHAS18001 internal auditor is preferred

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Bachelor’s degree or above, major in Safety management, Environmental Science, Health or equivalent
