In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Lead end-to-end development lifecycles for industrial PCs, programmable logic controllers, backplanes and other industrial electronic equipment.
  • Responsible for project effort and budget, product cost targets, milestone achievement, change management, and implementation of product requirements
  • Responsible for cost estimation and cost tracking of developed products.
  • Manage and create development schedules: Coordinate electronic and firmware design, prototype builds and follow-on detailed test campaigns: Compliance, continuous integration, production testing and field trials.
  • Track critical path dependencies between electronics design, bring-up, firmware development, and supply chain introduction.
  • Ensure adherence to structured phase-gate development processes, organize global gate reviews.
  • Contribute to global process improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning (where applicable), and design reviews across HW, FW and supporting teams.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, silicon providers (e.g., Intel, AMD) and contract manufacturers.
  • Work closely with Product Management to translate customer and industrial market requirements into technical engineering deliverables.
  • Proactively identify and track project risks and establish mitigation plans.
  • Maintain clear reporting dashboards for senior management regarding budget, resources, schedule, and quality metrics.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience leading hardware, electronics, embedded systems, or industrial product development projects.
  • Strong understanding of hardware and software development methodologies and product development lifecycles.
  • Experience coordinating parallel hardware and firmware development activities, including board bring-up and system integration.
  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes and supply chain considerations.
  • Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Prior experience in thermal management, environmental testing (vibration, wide temperature range), and EMI/EMC compliance for industrial environments.
  • Proficiency with standard project management and ERP tools (e.g., MS Project, SAP).
  • Hands-on experience with Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid frameworks adapted for hardware/firmware co-development.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams, including international remote teams.
  • Professional fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Understanding of x86 and/or ARM-based computer architectures from design to mass production.
  • Experience with Cybersecurity Resilience Act (CRA) requirements and relevant Cybersecurity standards (e.g. IEC 62443).
  • Familiarity with industrial computing interfaces and protocols (PCIe, CAN bus, EtherCAT, RS-232/485, GPIO, Modbus) and related standards (IEC 62541). Familiarity with functional safety standards (IEC 61508).
  • Understanding of low-level software architectures.
  • PMP or IPMA project management certification, additionally Agile/Scrum certification (e.g., CSM, PMI-ACP).
  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) project management methodology.
  • Background in supply chain risk management or component second-sourcing strategies.
  • German language proficiency.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead cross-functional engineering teams in developing high-reliability industrial computers and programmable controllers. In this role, you will bridge the gap between Hardware (HW) design, Firmware (UEFI/BIOS) engineering teams and various supporting functions (Test Engineering, Component Engineering, Supply Chain). Additionally you will coordinate compliance campaigns (EMI/EMC, environmental and product safety) with internal and external partners. Finaly you will ensure a smooth NPI (New Product Introduction), ensuring our rugged industrial systems meet strict performance, thermal, and compliance standards and can be profitably produced at the required quantities.
