In this role, you will build an understanding of Emerson’s instrumentation, valve, actuator, device-management, and control-system technologies. You will explore how connected technologies support predictive monitoring and help customers make informed maintenance and operational decisions. You will also contribute to customer demonstrations, sales resources, training materials, and technical documentation.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Learn how field device management solutions use predictive information from instrumentation and valves to support customer plant reliability.
  • Develop working knowledge of Emerson’s AMS Device Manager software, including its principal features and its role in customer and sales engagements.
  • Assist with the setup and basic configuration of live and mobile demonstration systems that showcase device-management and control-system capabilities.
  • Support network-design activities and coordinate with information technology partners on secure remote-access requirements.
  • Help maintain and improve technical documentation and knowledge resources for customers and Emerson business partners.

  • Participate in customer visits and observe how technical solutions are presented, demonstrated, and aligned with customer needs.
  • Collaborate with sales, technical, and business-development colleagues on projects that strengthen customer engagement.

    Who You Are:

You build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. You actively learn through experimentation when tackling new problems, using both successes and failures as learning opportunities. You gain the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity. You make sense of complex, high-quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university.
  • Interest in sales enablement, business development, industrial technology, automation, reliability, or customer-facing technical work.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Willingness to learn new software, connected-device technologies, control systems, and industrial applications.
  • Ability to organize information, maintain accurate documentation, and manage assigned priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and contribute to customer-focused projects.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring current or future employer sponsorship, if applicable to Emerson’s approved requirements for this position.
  • Ability to work at the designated Austin or Round Rock, Texas location and participate in customer visits, as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Academic focus in chemical, computer, electrical, industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering, or another relevant technical discipline.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation, instrumentation, valves, networking, process control, software demonstrations, or predictive maintenance.
  • Experience gained through coursework, student organizations, projects, internships, customer service, or other collaborative environments.
  • Interest in connecting technical capabilities with customer needs and business outcomes.
  • Strong written communication, presentation, research, and problem-solving skills.
