The Senior Director of Product Management for Reliability Solutions is responsible for defining and executing the global product strategy for Emerson's Reliability Solutions portfolio, including Machinery Health Management, Field Device Management, and Asset Performance Management. This executive leadership role ensures timely introduction of differentiated new products, manages the current product mix, develops pricing strategies, and communicates product information and value messages to Reliability Solutions customers and the worldwide sales force. The position also provides leadership to RS Product Managers by evaluating and developing marketing strategies, planning and coordinating marketing efforts, and communicating marketing plans.
As a key leader within the organization, the Senior Director of Product Management serves as the primary voice of the customer and market, actively engaging with end-user customers, industry leaders, strategic partners, and key stakeholders to identify emerging trends, validate market opportunities, and shape the future direction of Emerson's Reliability Solutions business. The role requires strong external presence, fostering strategic customer relationships and industry partnerships that influence product strategy, accelerate adoption, and strengthen Emerson's leadership position in the marketplace. In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Provide leadership and supervision of the RS Product Management group.
- Manage existing Reliability Solutions software and hardware and regularly evaluate the overall product portfolio for performance improvements, feature enhancements, obsolescence, line extension opportunities, and other new products. Prioritize opportunities and communicate to senior leadership.
- Define product requirements based on functional, usability and robustness requirements of target markets. Ensure these requirements are understood by the Technology organization and are met in the design and development of new products.
- Actively manage the Reliability Solutions New Product Development Roadmap, coordinating closely with Technology and Sales leadership.
- Ensure timely introduction of new software and hardware products. Analyze long-term product opportunities, determine business potential, develop marketing specifications, and communicate these to senior leadership for strategic planning.
- Define minimum viable product and scope projects that have a good balance between customer needs and time to market.
- Work across departments and World Areas to ensure organizational readiness to support new product launches and ongoing product support. Technology, Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Lifecycle Services are the most frequent areas of collaboration.
- Coordinate process for establishing list prices and increases and communicate pricing information to worldwide sales organization and other internal departments. Work closely with sales leadership to develop a pricing strategy that maximizes profits and market participation.
- Provide training, training materials, and sales tools to worldwide sales organization and other internal departments. Work closely with Sales Enablement team to help determine which material is most critical to develop.
- Work with Marketing Communications team to define product positioning, success stories, quantified business results (QBR), and campaigns.
- Manage Request to Quote (RTQ) process from customers for current and future products to be released. Balance special requests from individual customers with broader product development priorities.
- Ensure Reliability Solutions is covered in ongoing standards development and that emerging standards do not prevent or limit participation. Work with Product Managers, Sales, Technology, and customers on this topic.
- Facilitate User Driven Enhancement Program (UDEP) customer advisory board to gather feedback on product development priorities.
- Evaluate potential acquisition targets or partnership opportunities for Reliability Solutions.

You demonstrate a talent for collaborating and coordinating among various business functions, including technology, sales, marketing, operations, supply chain, and others.
For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Marketing, or Business, coupled with a strong technical
orientation obtained through an Engineering degree or years of experience - 10+ years’ experience in product management or other technical marketing role
- Extensive knowledge of the product development process and the proven capability to work effectively on cross-functional teams
- Candidates must have proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans and demonstrate business acumen and strong drive for results
- Ability to effectively lead a group of 5-10 people
- Knowledge of and experience with the process automation industry
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
