What is the position? Evercore is seeking a Vice President hire in Quant Trading Technology.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and refine algorithmic trading strategies and execution frameworks
- Analyze market data and trading performance to optimize execution quality and reduce transaction costs
- Design and implement smart order routing systems and performance measurement tools
- Improve algo wheel performance through optimization of client order placement
- Conduct data analysis, modeling, and back-testing to support trading decisions
- Collaborate with trading, technology, and analytics teams to enhance execution strategies
- Leverage advanced analytics tools (including LLMs where applicable) to drive innovation in trading processes
Specific Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
- Strong programming experience in Python; familiarity with Java, C++, MATLAB, or other statistical tools is a plus
- Experience with data analysis, modeling, and back-testing frameworks
- Strong understanding of electronic trading and equity market microstructure
- Familiarity with algorithmic trading strategies and execution analytics
- Knowledge of exchange order types, ATSs, SDPs, and private rooms
- Experience with market data, smart order routing, and performance measurement tools
- Proficiency with Bloomberg and Microsoft Office; experience with LLMs or advanced analytics tools is a plus
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets
- Knowledge of multivariate optimization (risk vs. performance)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Exposure to low-touch and high-touch trading workflows and execution optimization
- Experience working with large datasets and real-time systems
- This position requires valid United States work authorization and is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Expected Base Salary Range: $175,000 - $180,000
