What is the Position? The Director will be a member of the firm's Corporate vertical technology team, responsible for building and supporting software solutions for corporate functions (e.g., Finance, HR, Legal, Compliance, and other internal business units). The Director will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the team, managing the delivery of software solutions, establishing best practices/patterns for emerging technologies, building team morale, resource management, and budgeting. This is a hands-on role — the Director is expected to remain technically engaged and contribute directly to development work, not manage exclusively from a distance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure quality and consistency of software architecture by conducting regular code reviews
  • Remain hands-on with development work as needed — writing code, prototyping solutions, and troubleshooting alongside the team, particularly for complex or high-priority efforts
  • Manage multiple projects and understand interdependency of multiple work streams across corporate functions
  • Collaborate with leadership and business stakeholders to identify strategic wins, reduce technical debt, and summarize trade-offs
  • Work with Business Analysts to scope solutions and provide estimates
  • Partner with corporate function leads (Finance, HR, Legal, Compliance, etc.) to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Leadership and mentorship for day-to-day guidance of the development team
  • Work continuously to boost team camaraderie and morale
  • Manage resourcing and budget for the team, including vendor/consultant oversight where applicable
  • Identify opportunities to leverage Generative AI, intelligent automation, and modern development tools to improve employee productivity and business processes.

Specific Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of experience as a Software Development Manager, Development Supervisor, or Technical Lead with management responsibilities
  • Strong, current hands-on engineering ability — this is a player-coach role, not management-only, and the Director should be comfortable rolling up their sleeves and writing production code when needed
  • 5-10 years of .NET framework/core C#, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming
  • Experience delivering software solutions using Azure development products such as Data Factory, Functions, Logic Apps, API Management
  • Experience delivering software solutions for corporate/back-office functions (Finance, HR, Legal, or similar)
  • Experience with API and/or data integration development (e.g., REST/SOAP APIS, message queues, or system to system data integrations)
  • Experience developing ETL processes with MSSQL
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to work directly with non-technical business stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure Databricks
  • Workday Finance and HCM
  • ActiveBatch
  • GenAI/LLM integration experience (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Copilot, ML model development)
