The opportunity
You will be working in a small, agile analytics team within Global Finance serving teams across EY. We work with EY’s global leadership to ensure that the best data and analytics-driven insights are used in strategic and operational decision-making across the firm.
Within the analytics team, you will lead be the Tech & AI Lead, responsible for identifying and implementing opportunities to leverage AI to better serve actionable insights across EY. You will use your knowledge of AI and experience in a wide range of tools and technologies to produce efficient and scalable solutions across everything we do.
You will lead projects that provide innovative, data-driven perspectives on key business questions, helping to frame and develop the narratives that will ultimately guide how investments are made across our business.
Your key responsibilities
- As Tech & AI lead, you will ensure that the analytics team is making the best use of the latest GenAI models and technologies across our portfolio of analyses. This will include reviewing our tech stack, architecture and models and proposing alternatives where commercially effective, and evolving our use of AI to improve how we operate and go to market.
- In this key role, you will contribute to a wide range of analytics projects across the team, e.g.:
- GenAI Insight Portal for Global Analytics
- Integration of GenAI functionality within our existing products and those of other teams
- Design of dynamic communications system/alert system connecting insights to relevant roles in the firm
- Involvement in the production of recommendation systems
- Automating processes and analysis across the team
- Implementing the roll out of new technologies as necessary
Across your project responsibilities you may be required to:
- Gather requirements from key business stakeholders
- Develop innovative solutions to the stakeholder requirements, challenging the status quo when required to impact how the business operates
- Create and lead global project teams across our onshore and offshore teams and other stakeholders to deliver commercial and business-oriented solutions
- Provide technical direction across the project phases, running review sessions and/or pair-programming with other team members to ensure high quality outputs are delivered
- Create compelling deliverables (e.g. presentations, dashboards) to communicate key insights and recommendations to senior audiences
You will also coach and mentor junior colleagues and peers in their technical development through hosting training sessions and informal knowledge sharing.

To qualify for the role you must have:
- Strong academic record holding a PhD or Masters level degree in Machine Learning & AI (or similar)
- Leading knowledge and experience of applying emerging GenAI models & tech
- Demonstrable experience in relevant technical roles, including some experience in specifically data insight / analytics roles
- Extensive experience across the software development life cycle, from initial architecture design to implementation and testing
- Experience using Python and SQL to manage and manipulate data for analysis
- Good understanding of database design, including schema design and versioning data
- Experience in at least one version control system, preferably Git
- Experience in developing decision making models to inform better business decisions
- Exceptional attention to detail, demonstrated in analysis performed, outputs delivered, and verbal/written communications
- Experience working with directly with stakeholders to ensure project expectations are met or exceeded
- Experience in data storytelling, especially for non-technical audiences
- The ability to prioritize and balance your time across multiple commitments and help others on the team do the same
- Experience leading projects to deliver efficiently and on time
Ideally, you’ll also have several of the following:
- Experience identifying use cases for automation and designing & implementing automated solutions, ideally in the production of data-driven reporting
- Experience in at least one data visualization application e.g. Tableau, Spotfire, Power BI
- The ability to determine, explain, and produce the appropriate visualization to illustrate a key insight
- Experience developing statistical models in a production environment using Python
- A deep understanding of the benefits and limitations of a range of statistical and analytical methods (regression and classification methods, recommendation engines, etc.)
- Ability to validate and where necessary cleanse data sources for use in analysis
- Knowledge of techniques for handling missing data
- Experience building interactive dashboards in multiple platforms
- Experience working in an agile environment
- Experience working in or with a strategy function
