Associate Director – Americas Consulting Marketing Event and Experiences Leader

Events plays a critical role in shaping and advancing EY Consulting’s brand and relationships within the market. In this role, the leader for Marketing Events and Experiences will develop and oversee the strategy to drive engagement, impact and revenue through events. You are responsible for establishing and growing an Events team, fostering innovation and collaboration to deliver exceptional event experiences aligned with EY Consulting’s goals. You must have a passion for delivering unparalleled events and experiences to external audiences. This role is responsible for the end-to-end event strategy collaborating closely with the Demand Generation team to ensure that the event is integrated into the longer-term marketing plans. At EY, the event is just the beginning. How we interlace it into broader marketing plans is critical to success. This person is a strategic thinker who can connect the dots across our entire ecosystem from product and services to alliances to our sales and market facing teams.


General responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive events strategy to align with EY Consulting’s growth objectives.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of sponsorships and experiences that build EY’s reputation and deepen our relationships with our clients and prospects through meaningful interactions, social experiences and branding components.
  • Focus on negotiating sponsorship levels with approved funding levels and manage contract compliance review process.
  • Work closely with third-party hosts, vendors, destination marketing companies and more. Team with external vendor(s) to ensure quality and on-time deliverables especially for sponsored events.
  • Grow and lead a team of event professionals to deliver high-quality events from initial concept through execution and post-event evaluation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally, cross-sector and cross-alliances with internal teams to integrate event initiatives into broader organizational strategies and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with teams internally and externally on venue selection, social experiences, branding, content, invitations and registration, lodging, marketing materials, budgeting, staffing and on-site event logistics. Work closely with a Marketing Program Lead to manage messaging, branding, content and more.
  • Manage and foster relationships with business, marketing team, EY approved vendors, compliance and other key stakeholders through effective communications, collaboration, and engagement with purpose to deliver a "best in class" event experience.
  • Host regular planning calls with key stakeholders and event planning team.
  • Leverage all EY Consulting brand components in event and sponsorship activities.
  • Perform post event duties such as post event debrief and recap report, expense processing, invoice reconciliation, event success assessments and assisting with next steps such as providing feedback to team/vendors to improve process.
  • Serve as brand ambassador.

Skills and experience

  • 10-12 years of related work experience
  • Demonstrated people management experience
  • Established track record of creating and delivering successful events from inception to finish.
  • Able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously working with project management tools and key Microsoft Office Suite tools. Leverage event and project plans, playbooks, budget trackers and more for effective project management.

  • A startup mentality with a bias toward action and the ability to flex in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to ideate and create new events and experiences, based on business need
  • Strong understanding and practice of external event strategy ideally in B2B environment
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Experience working in both virtual and in-person event environments, and with managing internal and external teams
  • Knowledge and experience with A/V, and online event platforms and tools (web/mobile) for digital, live-streamed, and in-person events
  • Positive and motivated self-starter; solid decision-making skills
  • High performer with a can-do attitude and strong project management and organizational skills, detail orientation, ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment, and experience influencing and building relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Travel may be required
What we offer
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $127,300 to $245,000. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $152,700 to $278,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
