Assistant Director, Reward and Recognition

A key member of the EY Talent Team, the Assistant Director, Reward and Recognition will be a strategic partner with Service Line Talent to support the Business in identifying, analyzing and making recommendations to address compensation issues aligned with business needs and market practice. You will have a major role in the development and evaluation of the reward and recognition programs. This involves analysis of base and variable compensation policies to ensure the firm is competitive overall and in each line of business. The incumbent will act as an advisor to Talent, Business, and Leaders on aspects of reward and recognition.
Your key responsibilities
- Partner with the Service Line Talent to ensure an in depth understanding of service line issues and other variables that may influence the reward solutions
- Analyze internal data and external market data to understand service line issues and proactively develop plans to address
- Lead the development of base pay and incentive programs for service lines within Canada
- Lead participation in compensation surveys and source new surveys to meet business needs
- Analyze and interpret survey results and make recommendations based on the results
- Manage the annual compensation process for Canada through development of recommendations, supporting documentation and presentations to talent and service line leadership
- Collaborate with other reward members to simplify and streamline processes across the service lines to drive consistency
- Lead the Success Factors Compensation Module initiative in Canada as a representative in the Global group
- Manage the firm’s recognition award programs in alignment with business objectives
- Manage the job evaluation for new and revised roles using the JE methodology
- Ensure compliance with Canadian legislation such as Pay Equity
- Develop and coordinate communication plans as they relate to compensation, recognition and rewards programs
- Participate in Canada/Americas/Global additional projects ensuring the needs of the Canadian business are met
Skills and attributes for success
- University degree required
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in rewards and recognition or equivalent combination of training and experience
- CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) certification is an asset
- Strategic thinker as well as being detail oriented
- A team player who works closely with other members of the team
- Solid understanding of HR policies and practices
- Strong oral and written communication skills that will enable you to clearly present and explain technical and complex issues to a broad audience at all levels within the organization
- Very strong computer skills including Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, and lookups), PowerPoint and HRIS
- Ability to do modeling and forecasting, and to link and work with multiple spreadsheets
- Ability to collect, analyze and manipulate large amounts of data
