The opportunity

The Alliance Investments Operations support specialist will be responsible for providing ongoing Finance operations support to the Global Alliance & Ecosystem Finance and Reporting Lead, as part of the broader global Ecosystem Relationship Enablement function. The incumbent will be responsible for facilitating financial transactions, project management, budget management support, and other operational activities as per the agreed scope of support, using EY’s global finance systems and tools.

Your key responsibilities

  • Work with global Ecosystem Finance and Investment enablement teams to execute financial processes associated with investment programs.
  • Liaise with local country finance teams to manage inflow and outflow of investment funds through creation of engagement codes, generating invoices and tracking movement of funds.
  • Report monthly financials and other reports highlighting key performance parameters. Assist in monitoring and tracking the financial results against operational and strategic objectives as well as historical performance.
  • Provide operational support to enable effective management of operations and increase the efficiency of resources/processes.
  • Ad-hoc reporting/operations/admin support for initiatives/ projects as required. Study, analyse and understand business requirements in the context of preparing executive summaries, reports, key takeaways, and visualizations.
  • Identify issues in workflow and escalate as needed to resolve the issues.
  • Perform reconciliations and invoice monitoring across Microsoft funding programs
  • Analyse project budget versus actuals and inform the leadership team on any overspend/underutilization observed at defined frequency.
  • Data validation, maintaining internal controls compliance to meet Internal and external audit requirements.
  • Execute all tasks delegated by the GDS Finance lead as well as GDS investments lead and adhere to required timelines and quality standards.
  • Manage onshore stakeholder expectations, plans and communication.

Stakeholder management and project handling

  • Ability to work with senior onshore stakeholders, excellent relationship management skills and ability to develop trusted business advisor relationships with onshore stakeholders.
  • Understand stakeholder requirements based on business context.
  • Strong operational acumen to create impactful relationships with Senior leadership.
  • Focus on client and effectively use consultative approaches for stakeholder management.
  • Capability to engage multiple stakeholders by quickly understanding the objectives.
  • Communicate critical business indicators with in-depth reports and dashboards.

  • Help increase impact of the outlined strategies and run seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Read, understand, and sanitize the data, build reports, and provide insights.
  • Drive meetings, build presentations that interpret the data and create valuable business insights.

  • Knowledge of EY’s operations, including org structure, operating model, management information systems, independence concepts, etc. (for internal candidates), Big 4 consultancy exposure with experience in leadership support/strategic environment (for external candidates)

Educational qualification

  • Graduation in Commerce (or Business Management, Administration)
  • Masters in Commerce or MBA (Finance) preferred

Technologies and Tools

  • MS Office skills: Advanced level experience in Excel reporting and PowerPoint
  • Excel — Pivot tables, look ups, formulas, filtering, conditional formatting, validation
  • PPT — insert graphs or shapes, alignment, text justification, text margins
  • Excellent data handling skills
  • Familiarity with maintenance of SharePoint sites
  • Knowledge of using data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau

Experience

  • 9+ Years of relevant work experience
  • Experience of interacting with geographically dispersed professionals strongly preferred
