Ernst & Young's Strategy and Transaction (SaT) practice offers companies professional transaction experience. We help clients determine the right deal to do, and then assist them in doing the deal right. Within SaT, Transaction Support services encompass the strategic development and execution of an appropriate transaction structure, including the execution of financial due diligence. Our team works to understand profit drivers and trends, challenge assumptions of future performance, and assist with purchase agreements and post-closing transaction matters.

Responsibilities
- Analyze financial and operational results of companies through the preparation of various analyses by reviewing accounting records and conducting interviews with management, including finance, operations, human resources and marketing.
- Develop custom-built business and financial models using Microsoft Excel to analyze financial/operational performance results, support investment decisions, finance raising, business planning, valuations or disposals.
- Prepare/evaluate pro forma financial information, linking the three financial statements in excel, performing detailed analysis including sensitivity analysis, creating presentations and ad hoc analysis.
- Perform economic, industry and company research.
- Apply best practice valuation tools, techniques and methodologies to carry out business valuations, analysis and development of initial valuation findings
- Use written communication skills to develop internal and client documentation, including valuation analysis, reports and recommendations.
- Provide constructive performance feedback/training and conduct performance reviews. Foster teamwork and innovative thinking.
- Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery. Respect/protect client information.
- Maintain an educational program to continually develop skills.
Qualifications & Technical Skills Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance and approximately 2-3 years of related work experience; or a Graduate Degree and approximately 2 years of work experience.
- Pursuing a Professional accounting or business valuation designation i.e. ACCA, CA, CPA, CFA, CBV, ASA would be an asset.
- Strong Excel Skills (Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst certification would be an asset but is not a requirement).
- Report writing and PowerPoint skills
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel across the region
