Senior Consultant / Assistant Manager – Enterprise Risk – Risk Consulting – Capital Projects
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Enterprise Risk Senior Consultant to support client engagement teams, work with a wide variety of clients to deliver professional services and participate in Enterprise Risk external client engagements and internal projects. As a risk professional focusing on capital projects and infrastructure, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience in executing internal audit work for capital projects, supporting the review of construction works and feasibility studies, and providing strategic input to clients based on capital projects and infrastructure experience. The scope of work includes conducting research against strategic industry best practices and advising on construction projects improvement opportunities. You will also be addressing client issues and transformations relating to Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Audit, Program Risk Management, process and controls design and effectiveness, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance. Our solutions can be used by our clients to build confidence and trust with their customers, and the overall market.
Your key responsibilities
As a Senior Consultant you:
- Effectively engage with Client engagements primarily in the areas of Construction, Project Management, Cost Management, Project Schedule Review, Business Risk services, Internal audit, Enterprise Risk management, Compliance, and regulatory services, GRC, Internal controls, Contract Risk Services, Business Process Management, and other related solutions.
- Support your team with large transformational client engagements as well as internal projects.
- Conduct internal audits for capital projects to ensure compliance with established standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Identify and assess risks associated with capital projects and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to senior management and clients.
- Support the review and evaluation of construction works to ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of proposed projects, including technical, financial, and environmental aspects.
- Provide recommendations for improvements and optimizations in construction processes and project execution.
- Monitor and evaluate project timelines and budgets to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Identify potential delays and cost overruns and develop strategies to address them.
- Collaborate with project teams to implement effective time and cost management practices.
- Contribute to regular reviews of firms’ risks and risk profiles.
- Identify and assess new and changing risks in sector clients in the MENA regions and worldwide.
- Review risks, risk management, and controls environment, including key controls identification.
- Identify improvements to the management of risk and the control environment.
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) is a plus.
- Approximately 5+ years of work experience within the industry.
- Proven experience in executing internal audit work for capital projects, preferably in the construction and infrastructure sectors.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, project management, and feasibility studies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex projects and provide actionable recommendations.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Experience working with a Global PMC firm or consultancy firm.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Bilingual in English & Arabic (reading, writing, and speaking) is a must.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- Strong data analytics background and experience.
- High attention to detail to ensure that reporting is accurate and well presented.
- Project management mindset and strong day-to-day organization skills.
- Proficient in collaborative teamwork, ready to contribute effectively within our team
- Skilled in project management, capable of assuming roles such as PMC reviewer
- Expertise in technically reviewing projects and providing insightful assessments.
- Strong ability to analyze project schedules and cost reports for effective decision-making.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering results and ensuring project success.
