Talent Consultant, Assistant Director

Everything we do for our clients comes down to having the right business and technical knowledge and experience for every occasion. Naturally, there’s plenty going on behind the scenes to make that happen, and our colleagues across the business look to our Talent team to guarantee that everything runs seamlessly. As a Talent Consultant Assistant Director, you’ll be at the heart of that goal, partnering with a diverse team of professionals to provide people-driven HR services. We’re focused on developing the leaders who will support us in building a better working world, and you’ll have the opportunity to influence the change of our programs and development of our people.

The opportunity

Talent has seen a significant investment and growth in our people, and you’ll see that reflected in this role. You’ll provide a high level of talent consultation to the firm while leading change initiatives around human resources (HR) programs and processes. Whatever you find yourself working on, it all comes down to providing strategic consultation to business leaders that will allow them to drive business results. As a trusted advisor to the business, you’ll be part of the leadership team, translating the business strategy into talent solutions.

Your key responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for high-quality execution of significant HR processes, including compensation, performance management and career development. You’ll serve as the frontline support to customer groups as well as provide strategic support to functional leadership on people initiatives. You’ll address and resolve a wide range of employee inquiries and provide guidance to our business leaders. Utilizing data analytics, you’ll provide insight on headcount, salaries and budgets and inform on solutions as needed. You may also be responsible for supervising and mentoring other team members.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Ability to influence multiple constituents
  • Handling employee-relations issues for colleagues at all levels
  • Constantly identifying risks and opportunities for improvement to drive change
  • Managing large projects, including restructuring, leadership development and assessment initiatives
  • Translating complex data from a wide range of sources into meaningful insights that build and confirm your reputation as a key business partner
  • A broad knowledge of HR regulations, processes and leading practices

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Seven-plus years of experience with working knowledge of United States Labor Law
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong command of English Language (written and oral)
  • Cross boarder working knowledge
  • Financial Services knowledge (ex. Banking, Capital Markets, Insurance and/or Wealth Management)

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • A master’s degree, supported by Society for Human Resource Management certification
  • Experience working within a professional services industry or complex matrixed environment

What we look for

We’re interested in influencers with a broad and extensive knowledge of HR processes. You’ll need to be comfortable questioning ideas, processes and senior colleagues — all while overseeing multiple projects or employee issues. If you have a genuine passion for talent management and the confidence to take on new responsibilities proactively to stay ahead of demand, this role is for you.
