About Program Mercury
Mercury is a large, multi-year, enterprise-wide process transformation that will replace more than 1400 EY business systems and related processes with an integrated, SAP centric platform that will standardize and harmonize activities throughout the organization and significantly improve how EY manages its business. Mercury is a key enabler of EY’s All-In strategy, directly supporting the efforts of many transformation initiatives across the Firm by streamlining the application portfolio, reducing operating costs and providing a platform to deliver services more efficiently.
The Mercury solution is built upon the very latest of technologies (Portal, Mobile, SaaS) and a variety of hosting models (Cloud, Vendor and On-Prem). The SAP footprint is comprehensive, and the non-SAP components are varied. The user base at the final rollout is more than 400K.
About the Mercury Support Team (MST)
As an organization jointly owned by the business and Technology, the MST is a centralized and global organization which provides operational support for the delivered Mercury solution and support the Mercury user community. The MST plays an integral role in governance of the Mercury solution and the global template from both a business and technology perspective and will evolve to work closely with the business in enabling the benefit and value to be realized from the investment in Program Mercury and to set the future direction and technology road map to support EY All-In strategy.
The opportunity
The MST Batch Reporting & Data Analyst will be the point of contact and support in their time zone from Batch Operations across all weekends, month end and year end closes. The role of the resource will be the preparation, communication, support and coordination across weekends and strong. To ensure we are tracking to task and understanding and communicating any business impacts if there are any issues or delays across weekend processing.
Your key responsibilities
- Point of contact for the MST Batch Operations Team during the weekend (in EMEIA time zone)
- Working with teams across EYTech and Workload Automation to monitor system alerts, interfaces and batch jobs and helping to resolve incidents in production and lower environments where appropriate
- Notify the leadership team if any schedule change will affect the timely completion of any batch processing in the weekend critical path
- Provide regular timely updates on the process of the weekend/month end passes
- To respond quickly and knowledgeably to batch processing related support, managing incidents, reporting and schedule requests in production (secondary in lower environments e.g. QA)
- Monitor scheduled batch jobs and batch schedules, resolving any non-application scheduling conflicts
- Produce end to end daily batch production report summary for each pass across the weekend as well as daily batch reports as required
- Provide trend analysis on job performance and runtimes
- Produce monthly metrics on batch job executions, runtimes and performance, highlighting any jobs that require attention and optimisation.
- Capture and document requirements for production job schedule changes
- Follow all EYTech standards for incident and change management
Skills and attributes for success
- Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills - must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing.
- Very good understanding of the customer strategy, services and business processes where it applies to batch processing.
- Experience working with ServiceNow or other trouble ticket tools
- Ability to work and team effectively with IT Services groups and other management personnel including on a global, virtual basis.
- IT background with experience across the SAP development life cycle with experience in different project phases.
- Capabilities to analyse historic runtimes, identify and present trends and propose improvements.
To qualify for the role you must have
- Experience working with Control-M or other workload automation tools
- Demonstrable track record of batch analysis within SAP production and non-production environments.
- Proven analytical skillset to analyse control-M data (or other batch scheduling tool), batch requirements and design.
- Experience with conducting risk assessments and escalation of batch processing issues daily, weekly and monthly.
- Experience in conducting Impact Assessments and have the ability to identify and manage Risks/Issues.
- Experience of having worked on large, global IT deployment programs including preparing for go-live and supporting the immediate post go-live period.
- Skillset for improvements in monitoring and management that can be enabled through Control M or other tools.
- Aptitude to adopt a logical and organized approach to problem resolution. Ability to clearly articulate both problems and proposed solutions.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel, Project, Visio and PowerPoint skills with the clear ability to understand formulas.
- Minimum of 5 years IT related experience in SAP batch management is essential.
