About the opportunity

EY AI & Data is the data and advanced analytics capability within EY Asia-Pacific, with over 500 specialist employees working across multiple industry sectors. We implement information-driven strategies, data platforms and advanced data analytics solution systems that help grow, optimize and protect client organizations. We go beyond strategy and provide end to end design, build and implementation of real-life data environments and have some of the best architects, project managers, business analysts, data scientists, big data engineers, developers and consultants in the region. We are looking for a skilled and hands-on Talend Technical Lead to join our team in delivering complex data integration projects, particularly in Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Agile software development, particularly using Scrum, and will play a key role in the design, development, and deployment of ETL frameworks using Talend.

Your key responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end ETL solution design and development using Talend (Open Studio/Enterprise).
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and business stakeholders to define data integration requirements.
• Build reusable ETL frameworks and ensure data quality, scalability, and security across pipelines.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
• Ensure Agile practices are followed within the team—participate in and lead sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Talend jobs in production environments.
• Manage code reviews, performance tuning, and deployment processes.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimally 3 years of hands-on experience as a Talend Developer.
• Experience in leading at least two Agile projects using Scrum or equivalent methodologies.
• Strong experience with ETL design patterns, data warehousing, and real-time/near real-time data processing.
• Familiarity with GCC guidelines and secure data handling in government or regulated sectors.
• Proficiency in Talend components (tMap, tJoin, tFile, tREST, etc.), XML/JSON, and SQL.
• Certified in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate) or Talend (e.g., Talend Data Integration v7).

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and deployment (especially on AWS).
• Experience with CI/CD for ETL jobs.
• Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, or MDM is a plus.
• Experience working in DevOps/Agile hybrid environments.
