We’re looking for an experienced and self-assured ESG / Sustainability professional to join our Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) team who can deliver expert insight into sustainable finance, ESG data, products, regulations and industry practices. The candidate will be leading projects and will be able todeal confidently with clients and regulators and build business opportunities in this exciting area.

Join our Business Consulting FSRM team within FSO and you will provide a highly integrated broad array of risk management services to capital market participants within global banking, capital markets and asset management.

• Conducting risk management framework design and operational effectiveness

• Conducting important proactive assessments and assurance around the effectiveness of controls and company processes, while also providing objective consulting support

EY is seeking candidates with experience in ESG / Climate Risk / Sustainability.

Your key responsibilities

Business development and management of EY projects with respect to:

• Substantive matters of current and emerging HKMA, SFC, and global regulatory expectations regarding ESG and Climate Risk
• Strategy setting and implementation of net-zero commitments made by our clients
• Advice and guidance on structuring client organizational model (people, process and technology) for ESG / climate risk
• Structure and function of compliance roles and responsibilities and business models
• Understanding of ESG and Climate aligned technology and data solutions including fintech and regtech innovation
• Regulatory change management including planning and communication with regulators
• Policy development efforts in Hong Kong
• Climate Risk Management Framework Development
• Revision or formulation of new policies and controls aligned with regulatory and compliance guidelines and requirements
• Collaboration with our ESG / climate risk professionals in other parts of the globe (Americas, EMEIA and APAC) on ESG / climate risk

To qualify for the role you must have

• A university degree majoring in sustainability, climate risk, accounting, information systems, data, business or legal related subjects
• At least 3+ years of solid experience in ESG / Sustainability preferably within the financial services industry, either in a consulting role or in-house. In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance and risk management is a must. Candidates with lesser experience will be considered at Manager Level
• Robust practical experience of internal controls, regulatory compliance, risk governance and related operational knowledge
• Familiarity with Financial Services domain and the regulatory environment of Hong Kong with experience in liaising with HKMA and SFC. Regional experience would be an advantage.
• Good command of both written and spoken English; dual language skills are a plus
• Ability to interact with executive levels of clients, regulators and EY management
• Good influencing skills and stakeholder relationship management skills, advanced conflict management/resolution skills and project coordination experience
• Strong report-writing skills, with ability to create and organize varying forms of business information while developing it into clear, meaningful, professional reports and presentations
• Industry related certification is a plus (e.g., FRM, CPA/ CA, CFA, GARP SCR)
• Sustainability certification is a plus
