Paralegal / Legal Assistant – [Associate 1], Cayman Islands
EY BBC provides services in assurance, consulting, law, strategy, tax and transactions across the Cayman Islands, Bermuda, The Bahamas and the British Virgin Islands (the “BBC”). The EY BBC General Counsel’s Office (“BBC GCO”) provides effective and accurate legal advice to ensure both ethical and business compliance throughout EY BBC’s operations and service lines and assist and supports EY teams to resolve complex business challenges for a better working world.
The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to join our EY BBC GCO based in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands as a Paralegal (also known as Legal Assistant) at the [Associate] level, where you will have the chance to work with to provide legal advice and support to the EY BBC service lines.
You can expect to be involved in a multitude of complex legal projects across the BBC, helping our service lines to deal with the evolution of EY’s business and manage EY’s day-to-day legal requirements.

Your Key Responsibilities
You will spend your time assisting with, among other things, the coordination and delivery of legal advice in relation to EY BBC entities, including but not limited to assisting with supporting EY BBC GCO attorneys in providing: contract advice to Sector and Service Lines, employment and labour advice to Talent, corporate secretarial services, litigation management services, advice to leadership and general operations advice from a legal perspective. Your role will also include legal research, the production of case summaries, advice notes and presentations, as well as the production of legal documents and agreements, preparation of statutory filings, collation and management of documents and assisting with undertaking general research projects for the EY BBC GCO team.

To qualify for the role you must have:
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, within a reputable legal practice environment (this need not be in-house).
- Excellent IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to get up to speed quickly, and keenness to continue developing legal skills and engage in new areas of work and delivery models.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and oral.
- Ability to build strong client relationships through strategic and commercial awareness.
- Ability to prioritize quality in service delivery.
- Project management skills with an ability to plan and prioritize work, meet deadlines, monitor own budget and time.
- Ability to solve problems creatively and pragmatically.
- Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work.
