As a Senior Consultant in EY’s Finance Consulting team, you’ll have the opportunity to work with some of Australia’s leading organisations and CFOs to help them reimagine their finance function. This position is available in both Naarm (Melbourne) and Warrang (Sydney).

Your key responsibilities

  • Deliver impactful finance transformation projects by supporting assessments, process mapping, operating model design, and business case development across core finance functions such as Record-to-Report, FP&A, and Procure-to-Pay.
  • Enable digital finance solutions through hands-on involvement in system implementations and initiatives involving RPA, AI, and finance data strategy, working closely with clients, vendors, and cross-functional EY teams.
  • Engage with stakeholders and contribute to EY’s growth by presenting insights and recommendations, supporting business development efforts, and participating in knowledge-sharing and continuous learning initiatives.

Skills and attributes for success

  • 3–5 years’ experience in finance, consulting, or transformation roles within professional services or industry, with a strong understanding of finance processes such as P2P, R2R, FP&A, and costing.
  • Hands-on experience with finance system implementations (e.g., SAP, Microsoft, Blackline, Tagetik) and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Power BI or other analytics tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and time management skills, with the ability to work independently or in teams. Please note: Australian citizenship is required due to the nature of Federal Government engagements.

Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

  • A finance related degree
  • Qualifications such as CA, CPA or progress toward preferred
