The opportunity
The Clients & Industries Business Services – Operations & Reporting, Integrated Planning Senior Specialist will have overall global oversight and leadership of the Integrated Planning Team in the Clients & Industries Business Services Operations & Reporting pillar. The role will team closely with Clients & Industries pillar leaders and Global Clients & Industries Leadership on cross-functional Clients & Industries initiatives and translate Global Clients & Industries strategic priorities throughout the Integrated Planning Team.
The role will drive transformational change and improvements within the Integrated Planning Team, including re-designing, implementing and driving integrated planning governance and processes for Global Clients & Industries. This includes active management of all Integrated Planning processes needed to effectively implement and enforce integrated planning across Clients & Industries, aligned to and informed by evolving business needs. The role will be responsible for performance management of the Integrated Planning Team, including the integration of GDS resource capability.
The role will also have a hands-on delivery role across the range of integrated planning activities.
As a key member of the Planning Enablement team, the role will collaborate on a broader set of Global Clients & Industries priorities and may act as sponsor for agreed strategic initiatives. The role may also have LEAD counsellor responsibilities.
Some or all the below will be applicable depending on the scope and function alignment of the role.
- Integrated Planning
- Design, establish and manage integrated planning, including global investment planning, market segment execution planning and revenue planning
- Implement and maintain consistency of integrated planning governance structures across Global Clients & Industries
- Participate in and contribute to Global Clients & Industries efforts to ensure consistency of integrated planning processes and protocols across Global Clients & Industries Functions and Pillars and the sharing of best practices
- Process improvement
- Collaborate with Clients & Industries and Enablement Pillar Leaders, Finance and Talent to identify relevant, consistent integrated planning reporting, analysis and updates for senior stakeholders (GE, GPG, GMIC, Clients & Industries Leadership, etc.).
- Operationalize and implement on a consistent basis; identify trends and issues and present recommendations as warranted.
- Effective teaming
- Deliver inclusive and trusted leadership and coaching at all levels to ensure all Integrated Planning team members achieve their highest potential both individually and collectively
- Manage, mentor and counsel Integrated Planning team members as appropriate
- Leverage and elevate GDS resource capability across the Clients & Industries integrated planning landscape
Your key responsibilities
Manage multiple Clients & Industries and external stakeholder relationships (Clients & Industries Function leaders, Finance, reporting, GDS, etc.) and interactions and identifying opportunities for effective collaboration
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
• Apply in-depth knowledge of the business, resources, leveraging relationships, communications and operational effectiveness to anticipate, drive and deliver complex integrated planning projects and initiatives
• Provide strategic integrated planning insight and guidance to leadership.
• Possess a high level of complex, conceptual problem-solving ability
• Able to convert planning data or abstract concepts into sharp, compelling management information reporting
• Able to create and implement timelines related to project deliverables, assign tasks, drive their completion and manage sponsor/stakeholder expectations of the outcome of the deliverables.
• Manage highly complex relationships with multiple stakeholders often with competing priorities
• Make decisions regarding project resource and funding needs
Supervision Responsibilities:
• Lead, coach and develop the Integrated Planning team
• Develop a culture of success by leading and driving the execution of high-performing, diverse and inclusive talent management (hiring, developing, assessing, etc.)
• LEAD Reviewer responsibilities and provision of mentoring and regular feedback
• Develop and maintain metrics on team performance, providing regular feedback in LEAD and publicizing the teams’ contributions to leadership and other relevant stakeholders
• Instill high performing teaming principles
• Operate with high degree of independency and autonomy
Skills and attributes for success
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
• Strong financial reporting and analysis experience in large transformation programs within a global environment
• Proven track record of leading global virtual teams and in successfully transforming business functions. This includes demonstrated change leadership skills around disruption and increasing business agility, innovation and adoption.
• High level of complex, conceptual problem-solving ability, a wide sphere of influence and a broad-based network are expected.
• Financial acumen with demonstrable ability to analyze market intelligence and business reporting and make practical recommendations to Leadership based on that analysis.
• Demonstrated drive, determination and resilience, and track record of being able to overcome barriers and achieve results.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; able to quickly establish personal credibility and influence.
• Understanding of and desire to strive for technical excellence and commercial impact
• Demonstrated experience working at a senior level in a fast-moving, client-driven environment
• Strong executive presence and ability to build and sustain stakeholder relationships at the highest levels of the firm
• Ability to lead and drive transformational change by engaging with and building strong, trusting relationships with stakeholders
• A global mindset and ability to communicate and work effectively across cultures
• Resilient, agile and pragmatic under pressure.
• Advanced skills in Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Other Requirements:
• As the job involves responding to clients' needs and varying time zones, long hours are regularly required
• Moderate to frequent travel will be required
• Education: Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent qualification required
• Experience: 10-12 years of complex and large sales experience. Experience working in a partnership/professional services environment preferred
