The opportunity
The Reporting Senior Specialist role is responsible for owning the delivery of consistent Clients & Industries performance reporting processes, governance and related administrative activities across the Clients & Industries organization.
The position reports to the Clients & Industries Planning Enablement Leader and will be aligned to one or more highly complex reporting activities.
Responsibilities will include ownership and execution of a variety of Clients & Industries reporting activities and processes, including the design, development and deployment of standardized Clients & Industries function reporting.
Your key responsibilities
Some or all the below will be applicable depending on the scope and function alignment of the role.
Responsible for owning the delivery of a range of reporting activities:
- Reporting BAU and process improvement
- Design, operationalize and implement reporting requirements and governance structures (including evolution of the Essentials for Clients & Industries suite) and data management governance processes on a consistent basis
- Identify reporting trends and issues and present recommendations as warranted.
- Participate in and contribute to the Global Clients & Industries efforts to ensure consistency of reporting protocols across Global Clients & Industries Functions and Pillars and the sharing of best practices
- Collaborate with Clients & Industries Pillar Leaders, Finance and Talent to identify relevant, consistent reporting, analysis and updates for senior stakeholders (GE, GPG, GMIC, Clients & Industries Leadership, etc.).
- Effective teaming
- Deliver inclusive and trusted leadership and coaching at all levels to ensure all Integrated Planning team members achieve their highest potential both individually and collectively
- Mentoring, coaching and counselling of junior Reporting team members as appropriate
- Leverage and elevate GDS resource capability across the Clients & Industries reporting landscape
- Manage multiple Clients & Industries and external stakeholder relationships (Clients & Industries Function leaders, Finance, Integrated Planning, GDS, etc.) and interactions and identifying opportunities for effective collaboration
- Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities

- Anticipate planning business needs and proactively provide innovative ideas and solutions
- Create and implement timelines related to project deliverables, assign tasks, and follow up on their completion and manage sponsor/stakeholder expectations of the outcome of the deliverables.
- Possess a high level of complex, conceptual problem-solving ability
- Provide proactive strategic insight and guidance at all levels, including senior leaders across EY, to drive Function strategic objectives including making recommendations/problem-solving as issues arise
- Recommend strategic solutions based on a solid understanding of firm and business objectives and needs analysis and own experience/knowledge.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of the business, resources, leveraging relationships, communications and technology to drive and deliver complex planning initiatives
- Ability to convert data (e.g., budget, performance, sales, and pipeline) or abstract concepts into sharp, compelling Management Information materials
Skills and attributes for success
- Proven track record of leading and delivering reporting excellence across a global matrix organization
- Ability to articulate and position reporting issues and activities in the context of the function’s business issues and strategic priorities.
- Financial acumen with demonstrable ability to analyze market intelligence and business reporting and make practical recommendations to Leadership based on that analysis.
- Exceptional program management skills
- Budget management experience across a global matrix organization
- Experience in change management around disruption and increasing business agility, innovation and adoption.
- A global mindset and ability to communicate and work effectively across cultures
- Proactive, forward looking and comfortable with taking the initiative.
- Demonstrated drive, determination and resilience, and track record of being able to overcome barriers and achieve results.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to quickly establish personal credibility and influence.
- Strong executive presence and ability to build and sustain stakeholder relationships at the highest levels of the firm
- Ability to work both independently and within teams, leading and motivating virtual, broad-based teams
- Advanced skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Other Requirements
Travel may be required from time to time to complete assignments and meet with organizational leaders and stakeholders
Flexibility in working hours to accommodate volume of work and multiple time zones as needed
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent qualification required
Experience: 10-12 years of operations experience in a corporate environment
