GDS – Finance Business Advisor - Assistant Director

The opportunity
We are looking for a Manager for our Internal Business Advisor team. This individual will have strong financial experience and will provide guidance and support to our team as they advise our internal client serving teams to make best use of SAP and its processes in order to effectively manage their projects with EY’s external clients. There are three main components to this role:
• Maintaining a strong technical working knowledge of SAP as well as EY’s business operating model, in order to guide the Internal Business Advisor team on the challenges they encounter while supporting our client serving teams
• Providing management structure (recruiting, training, scheduling) and performance counselling to the growing Internal Business Advisor Team
• Acting as a critical liaison between the team and the Global Finance leadership

Your key responsibilities
As an Assistant Director your key responsibilities will include the following:
• You will organise a team schedule for taking calls / chats from client servers – the objective of which is:
o Ensuring engagement teams are properly prepared for client negotiations from a financial perspective
o Explaining downstream impacts of different user choices required in SAP
o Providing instruction and guidance on the preparation of external client project completion estimate processes and corresponding financial impacts
o Advising and screen sharing to show users how to perform various actions in SAP
• You will make team decisions to ensure client servers receive a timely and accurate response from the team such that questions / issues are resolved in a one-stop basis where possible or are escalated to the appropriate functional expert quickly and effectively, if otherwise.
• You will be expected to use strong analytical skills to determine individuals/teams in need of proactive outreach to improve financial performance. In addition, you will build strong relationships with regional service line finance teams to understand how to best approach your combined stakeholders.
• You will guide the team on how to best leverage system and finance expertise in order to prepare for these discussions: making judgments regarding the topics to be addressed and their prioritization.
• In addition to the core responsibilities above, you will be expected to provide coaching and guidance to the Internal Business Advisor team which is designed to help further develop their skills through job shadowing, advising and training.
• You may also be required to help facilitate training for account and engagement teams on SAP and effective financial management practices.
Skills and attributes for success
• You are fluent and effective English speaker (C2 level)
• You should have minimum 6 years of experience working in a corporate organization preferably in finance/business/customer service area which includes supervisory role experience
• You have excellent listening skills to provide focused advice, combined with the ability to apply judgment and seek guidance when escalation to a functional expert is appropriate
• You have Exceptional customer service skills, including responsiveness and commitment to quality is one of your strong side
• Ability to prioritize workload and deliver outputs within strict deadlines.
• Strong communication and partnering skills with people of all levels of the firm
• You have strong knowledge of financial metrics and dependencies including ability to calculate variances quickly and accurately
• You have experience coaching more junior team members through shadowing, answering questions, advice, etc.
