Technology Sourcing Manager

Supply Chain Services (SCS) is a global team with more than 600 professionals with representation in more than 35 countries.   • Real Estate (including Workplace Services)
  • Global Procurement
  • Technology Sourcing & External Content
  • Talent and BMC Brand, Marketing and Communications)
  • Travel, Meetings & Events Services
  • This position sits within the Enterprise Technology Sourcing group that covers core procurement and sourcing activities: spend management, strategic and operational sourcing, contracting, risk management and supplier management.

As a Technology Sourcing Manager in Software, you will be a part of a global team managing US$2.3b spend. You will work independently on projects but in close conjunction with other team members to share ideas, identify opportunities and drive improvements. You will closely collaborate with EY Technology, Business Stakeholders, Global Legal Counsel, Risk Management Teams and many others. You will play a variety of roles from subject matter expert, negotiator to project manager navigating through the different teams making sure EY Policies are observed.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end delivery of sourcing projects and provide excellence throughout the process analyzing information, delivering sourcing strategies, identifying requirements and opportunities, negotiating terms and conditions, and contracting products and/or services;
  • Act as a trusted business advisor to EY stakeholders, aligning procurement projects with the business’ pipeline and providing Exceptional Customer Services while delivering both brand and quantitative value to the bottom line through cost savings and cost avoidance.
  • Adherence to and incorporate EY Procurement policy and processes, including collaboration with Legal (GCO), Risk Management, IT, other Procurement categories as appropriate;
  • Continuously deliver procurement and category insights to key stakeholders and educate the procurement process to local EY staff and stakeholders as needed.
  • Develop strong relationships with key EY business stakeholders and report procurement progress via regular meetings.
  • Drive an inclusive and sustainable sourcing mindset to build a better working world;
  • Minimize contractual risks to EY and manage supplier relationships according to EY’s Procurement and Independence policies.
  • Achieve value targets, while developing new cost reduction strategies to improve negotiable spend via sourcing and demand management activities; including spend consolidation and supplier rationalization.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting on deals and timely submission of savings forms.
  • Think creatively and provide innovative suggestions that will improve service delivery.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Understanding of Software category and related risks.
  • A strong team player, comfortable working collaboratively, virtually and independently.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills – able to effectively manage and influence including senior leaders as well as a broad range of internal and client facing professionals.
  • Ability to work in a high pace and on several projects at a time.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Culturally sensitive, capable of handling interactions with a “global mindset”.
  • Positive attitude and adding value approach.
  • Fluent in business English.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • At least 5-7 years of relevant experience from a large organization, either a partnership or multi-national corporation
  • Strong sourcing expertise and background in Technology Procurement.
  • Proven track record of leading procurement activities, including regional or global projects.
  • Proven experience in negotiating enterprise-level software contracts and renewals.
  • Ability to align efforts with key stakeholders and influence these leaders, as necessary, and possess a global mindset.

Other requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree. A follow on degree in commercial, business or procurement related discipline will be an asset.
  • CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) is a plus.

Language

Fluent in English (essential).
