The opportunity

Our Internal Audit practice provides comprehensive process, risk and control services through a suite of outsourcing, co-sourcing and transformation solutions that help companies around the world evaluate and enhance their internal audit and risk management capabilities. As the leading banking internal audit services provider globally, we continue to explore expansive opportunities with banking and fintech clients and, include specialized focus on regulatory areas, ESG, payments, IA transformation and advanced analytics. Our teams also bring their skills and experience to serve our clients across the three lines of defense.

Your key responsibilities

You'll be responsible for supporting our clients in improving and sustaining a strong risk and control environment through a variety of service offerings, including the following:

  • Internal Audit co-sourcing and outsourcing
  • Internal Audit transformation
  • Control testing across the three lines of defense
  • External quality assessment reviews
  • Assessments and diagnostics
  • ICFR, SOX readiness and optimization

You can expect to work with high performing teams, clients and market leaders primarily in real estate. As you build knowledge and experience, you'll become a credible advisor to your colleagues within EY as well as the clients.

Skills and attributes for success
On a typical day, you’ll establish project objectives, prepare a project approach, perform analyses using advanced data analytics tools, prepare documentation, evaluate and review risks, processes and related controls, as well as assist in the preparation of the final project deliverables. We'll look to you to stay abreast of current business and economic developments relevant to the client's business, as well as display teamwork, integrity, and leadership to support and value your team's contributions, fostering innovation.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or other related field; or a master’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or other related field
  • 5+ years of audit or internal audit experience
  • Experience serving clients in the real estate industry, specifically real estate funds or REITs
  • 2+ years of leadership experience leading small teams
  • Proficiency in MS Office

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in auditing higher complexity real estate processes, including leases, fixed assets and impairment
  • Experience with leading real estate technology platforms, e.g. Yardi, MRI, JD Edwards and Argus
  • Experience in auditing both business controls and IT general controls
  • Experience using advanced data analytics and tools
  • Experience with financial services internal audit risk assessment and governance, risk and compliance (GRC) methodologies, tools and enablers
  • Ability to travel to meet client needs and hold a passport with a valid drivers license

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $111,600 to $204,700. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $134,000 to $232,700. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
