EY’s GDS Tax Technology team’s mission is to develop, implement and integrate technology solutions that better serve our clients and engagement teams. As a member of EY’s core Tax practice, you’ll develop a deep tax technical knowledge and outstanding ERP, database, data analytics and programming skills.
Ever-increasing regulations require tax departments to gather, organize and analyse more data than ever before. Often the data necessary to satisfy these ever-increasing and complex regulations must be collected from a variety of systems and departments throughout an organization. Effectively and efficiently handling the variety and volume of data is often extremely challenging and time consuming for a company.
EY's GDS Tax Technology team members work side-by-side with the firm's partners, clients and tax technical subject matter experts to develop and incorporate technology solutions that enhance value-add, improve efficiencies and enable our clients with disruptive and market leading tools supporting Tax.
GDS Tax Technology works closely with clients and professionals in the following areas: Federal Business Tax Services, Partnership Compliance, Corporate Compliance, Indirect Tax Services, With-holding Tax, and Internal Tax Services. GDS Tax Technology provides solution architecture, application development, testing and maintenance support to the global TAX service line both on a pro-active basis and in response to specific requests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements Management, Solution build and System delivery:
- Lead functional requirement workshops/meetings with Client/EY teams and create detailed business requirement specification and user stories
- Create Functional Design Documentation and Key Design Decisions and present the same to stakeholders
- Manage the requirement scope changes and requirements traceability through sufficient documentation like MOMs, User stories and Requirement specs
- Ability to work in an iterative approach with client/onsite teams to build functional solutions through solution wireframes
- Create and document business process models to illustrate current and future state processes using various modelling tools
- System Implementation:
- Lead SAP FICO solution architecture and configuration in S/4HANA.
- Design and integrate core financial modules: GL, AP, AR, AA, CO.
- Leverage S/4HANA innovations like Universal Journal and embedded analytics.
- Exposure on SAP Simple Finance – GL Accounting, Asset Accounting and CO – Overhead Cost Controlling & Profitability Analysis.
- Creating Financial Statement versions & General Ledger hierarchies.
- Understanding of SD & MM modules in relation to transaction flows and dependent configurations.
- Work with offshore design/development team to convert the functional solutions to technical solutions by providing solution discovery support

- Work as a bridge between client business team and the technical team during the build phase providing requirements debriefs/walk throughs to build the new system against approved specifications.
- Participate in interim work products review to validate the work product against the baselined requirements
- Demonstrate work products to client/onsite in sprint reviews and document feedback
- Project Execution:
- Ability to work under agile framework adhering to agile ceremonies and methodologies
- Manage end-to-end SAP FICO project lifecycles.
- Create status reports and provide status updates to client against work scope.
- Ability to identify opportunities for business process improvement and optimization through automation
- System Validation:

- Create Functional/User acceptance test cases, perform functional testing and document test reports
- Work with the QA team to help them understand requirements and review test cases.

- Create System Acceptance Criteria, end user training documentation and deliver user training
- Provide Support system cutover and parallel run functional support
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
- Documentation & Training:
-
- Develop detailed functional specifications and design documents for SAP FICO solutions
- Analyse data and documents to identify insights on current client state - processes, functions, operational practices
- Convert the business requirement specification to detailed functional solutions/specifications for design and development
- Document key design decisions and criterions from a future system angle prior to the functional specification documentations
- Create User Manuals, Business User Training Decks, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)s for the solution transition and adoption.
- Deliver end user training and ensures a smooth transition to the client.

- Ability to learn new work domains as demanded by the project requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- CA/CMA with 4 to 8 years of post-qualification experience
- Minimum 2 to 4 full cycle implementation experience for financial transformation projects preferably on tax/accounting side.
- Strong functional knowledge and work experience on SAP FI-GL, FI-AP, FI-AR, CO-OM, CO-PA.
- Experience with SAP Fiori apps and real-time reporting.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- SAP FICO certification (preferred).
Functional and Technical skillsets:
- Tax domain knowledge on areas like Indirect tax, With-holding Tax, International Tax and transactions, Transfer pricing, Legal Entity Forecasting, etc
- Financial Planning, Analysis modelling (GL, TB, Financial statements)
- Knowledge on CO-PA & Product Costing (Planning and cost object controlling).
- Experience with Business intelligence tools would have additional preference.
