Job summary:
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Front-End/UI Developer with a strong foundation in web application design, financial data visualization, and regulatory reporting workflows within banking and capital markets environments. This individual will play a pivotal role in designing and leading the front-end architecture of a next-generation regulatory reporting product, guide a small team of UI developers, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (business, backend, data, and QA teams) to deliver high-quality, scalable, and intuitive solutions for a banking client.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in modern UI frameworks with a solid understanding of financial products, risk, and compliance data — ensuring the reporting platform meets both regulatory accuracy and user experience excellence.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional who thrives in a busy workplace and is well-versed in working closely with senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with business analysts and domain SMEs to translate functional and regulatory requirements into front-end components.
- Develop UI modules for regulatory reports and dashboards aligned to Basel III/IV, local central bank, or IFRS/TFRS reporting standards.
- Enable interactive report drilldowns, data lineage views, reconciliation grids, and validation dashboards for financial and regulatory users.
- Partner with data and backend teams to ensure data consistency, validation logic, and regulatory traceability.
- Contribute domain insights into design thinking workshops, sprint planning, and user acceptance testing sessions.
- Manage end-to-end front-end delivery including requirement analysis, estimation, sprint tracking, and release readiness.
- Ensure UI deliverables comply with security, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance norms.
- Coordinate with QA and product owners for UAT cycles and production rollout support.
- Maintain documentation of UI components, data binding logic, and visualization workflows
- Lead and mentor a team of analysts specializing in data validation, testing, and regulatory reporting.
- Supervise data profiling to identify anomalies, missing values, or inconsistencies in source data.
- Implement automated validation checks (e.g., outlier detection, threshold monitoring) to reduce manual effort.
- Optimize workflows for data extraction, transformation, and validation to improve efficiency.
- Drive adoption of tools like KNIME and Alteryx for scalable testing and reporting.
- Maintain robust documentation and audit trails for compliance reviews.
- Stay updated on changes in reporting requirements and assess their impact.
- Escalate data issues or regulatory breaches with actionable remediation plans.
- Present findings and metrics (e.g., error rates, testing coverage) in leadership reviews.
- Keep the team updated on changing regulatory requirements.
- Lead the design and development of web-based user interfaces for regulatory reporting, data visualization, and compliance dashboards.
- Define and enforce front-end architecture, reusable component standards, and UI coding best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, perform code reviews, and ensure adherence to clean code and agile delivery principles.
- Collaborate with backend and data engineering teams to ensure seamless data integration from APIs, data lakes, and reporting engines.
- Ensure responsiveness, performance optimization, and accessibility across browsers and devices.
- Drive the adoption of modern UI toolkits and visualization libraries (e.g., React, Angular, D3.js, Highcharts, Chart.js)
To qualify for the role, you must have.
- 8–10 years of experience in UI/Front-End Development, with at least 4+ years in a lead or senior developer role.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
- Experience in Regulatory Tech, FinTech, or banking transformation projects.
- Strong understanding of banking operations, financial products, and regulatory requirements
- Proven track record of leading and executing complex regulatory projects within the banking or financial services industry.
- Expert in React.js / Angular / Vue.js, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and responsive UI frameworks.
- Understanding of Python, Flask/Django, or data API frameworks (advantageous).
- Experience working in cloud-native environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Proficiency in data visualization libraries (D3.js, Highcharts, Chart.js, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON data handling, and integration with backend or reporting services.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins) and agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP)
- Certification in key finance Data Analytics tool (e.g. KNIME and Alteryx)
