Your role
We are a fast-growing Global Compliance and Reporting (GCR) team that values diversity and inclusion. To ensure efficient and high-quality results for our clients, you will drive improvements and redesign processes. You will be at the forefront of delivering accurate and compliant tax reporting across EY’s global operations, ensuring alignment with both IFRS and US GAAP standards. Your wide-ranging responsibilities in our team will include:
Tax Accounting & Reporting:
- Design and implement tax operating models to support multinational clients, as well as manage the full scope of tax and finance outsourcing services within the Global Direct Tax and Tax Accounting team.
- Lead the preparation and review of global tax provisions under IFRS and US GAAP, including the preparation of disclosures and reconciliation of GAAP differences, while overseeing tax reporting requirements from controllers and tax managers across the Group.
- Build and grow strategic client accounts and relationships, ensure compliance with internal controls, including SOX documentation and audit processes, and lead technical discussions related to BEPS Pillar Two and the OECD GloBE Framework.
Process Improvement & Compliance:
- Identify and implement process improvements in tax provision and compliance functions, while coordinating the preparation of tax account reconciliations and related schedules, and monitoring the implications of new accounting standards and regulatory changes, including BEPS Pillar Two.
- Standardize and embed Group Tax Reporting processes to ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and SOX, while driving continuous improvement in tax reporting processes through design, control, and operational enhancements.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Manage the tax reporting aspects of M&A transactions, including purchase accounting and compliance, while partnering with internal tax, accounting, and finance teams, as well as external service providers to ensure seamless client service delivery.
- Mentor and develop staff on ASC 740, IAS 12, and other key tax concepts, providing performance feedback and ensuring the highest quality standards while fostering team talent at all levels.
- Set engagement strategies that connect clients with EY subject matter experts and serve as an escalation point for client and internal teams to address any issues effectively.
Your skillset
- Degree qualified with deep expertise in US GAAP and/or IFRS tax accounting provisions/projects, as well as a strong understanding of the ASC 740 and IAS 12 frameworks. Additionally, you have practical experience in corporate income tax across multiple jurisdictions.
- Accounting or tax qualification (ACA/CA/ACCA/CTA/CPA or equivalent) along with good experience in tax accounting software and strong Excel skills to deliver efficient and accurate results.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing teams across borders and excellent communication skills to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences. Especially German language skills on a level of C1 are needed.
