DevOps & Automation Engineer

Job Summary:

As a DevOps & Automation Engineer within the EY SAP Enterprise Data Management Initiative run by SAP Platforms & Assets, you will architect and implement the foundational automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) components for EY’s enterprise data platform. This cloud-native platform incorporates services from SAP, Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Azure and Nvidia AI to process, validate, and manage data migration at scale.

You will be responsible for the full DevOps toolchain, CI/CD pipelines, cloud automation, monitoring, and environment provisioning in support of a global, multi-tenant, enterprise-grade platform.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Design, implement, and manage fully automated CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments for ETL pipelines, AI/ML models, and platform components.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Pulumi, ARM templates, or CloudFormation.
• Automate deployment and management of containerized services using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS, EKS, GKE).
• Enable automated testing (unit, integration, performance) of SAP BDC and cloud data pipelines.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, Azure Monitor, or CloudWatch.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and data engineers to automate security hardening, access provisioning, and policy compliance.
• Manage cloud infrastructure for high availability, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
• Establish and enforce best practices for release management, change control, rollback procedures, and production support.
• Lead incident response and root cause analysis for infrastructure and deployment issues.
• Continuously evaluate and introduce emerging DevOps tools and methods aligned to EY’s platform and SAP BDC use cases.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

• Proficient in CI/CD tools: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI.
• Hands-on experience with IaC and provisioning: Terraform, Bicep, Pulumi, or Ansible.
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Experience with Kubernetes-based deployment models and service meshes (Istio, Linkerd).
• Familiarity with cloud-native application security, identity and access controls (e.g., Azure AD, IAM policies).
• Understanding of SAP landscapes and technical integration points with cloud platforms.
• Expertise in monitoring, telemetry, log analytics, and automated diagnostics.
• Deep knowledge of software development lifecycle, release management, and DevSecOps integration.
• Solid grasp of cloud cost optimization, scalability patterns, and resiliency architecture.

Other Requirements:

• Experience managing infrastructure for AI/ML workloads, data lakes, or real-time pipelines.
• Knowledge of enterprise policies around security, compliance, and audit logging.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for interfacing with business units, engineering, and platform stakeholders.
• Previous experience in large-scale SAP transformations or hybrid cloud data programs preferred.

Job Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.

Certifications (preferred):

• SAP BDC / BTP
• Databricks
• CKA/CKAD (Kubernetes certifications)
• Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
• HashiCorp Terraform Associate

Experience:

• 7–12 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Automation roles, with 3+ years working on complex data platform or SAP-integrated ecosystems.
