The opportunity
We currently are seeking an experienced Senior Manager for our Technology Strategy & Transformation team. We are a team focused on helping clients create their technology vision and leverage their technology capabilities to deliver on tech-enabled business outcomes such as improving business performance, improving operational efficiency, transforming employee or customer experiences, all while managing risk and complex stakeholder landscapes.
We are looking for candidates with experience supporting clients across one or more of the following domains: Technology/Digital/AI Strategy, Technology Operating Model, and Technology Sourcing:
Technology/Digital/AI Strategy and Architecture:
- Lead the definition of technology strategies and roadmaps that align to a clients’ business objectives, considering mature technologies enablers (e.g. ERP, Data & Analytics, Mobile/Digital) and emerging technologies (e.g. GenAI, Agentic AI, Quantum) which create business value for the client organization.
- Lead the development of technology planning outputs including strategic initiatives, business cases, budgets, etc. to inform executive level priorities and decision making for technology at the client organization.
Technology Operating Model:
- Understand the clients’ current technology operating model through objective assessment of their capabilities – including talent, sourcing, processes, and technology landscape
- Transform the clients’ digital/technology operating model in-line with their vision, based on detailed options and recommendations, utilizing appropriate modern delivery methods (such as Agile,
- DevSecOps, Product Management, Platform Delivery, Citizen Development and/or Modern Workforce concepts) and delivery models (such as internal delivery, managed services, system integrators, global capability centres and hybrid models)
- Lead the development of the necessary technology organizational design by developing org structures, job profiles that will help realize the transformation and attract the necessary talent
- Enable the client to work more effectively by establishing modern methods, practices and processes and shifting mindset and behaviors (e.g. product, agile mindset) to support new ways of working that will enable the technology functions to enhance their performance
- Lead the definition of governance and processes that will enable the technology function to perform their role more effectively in future
- Understand the degree and cadence of change through the development of transition and change plans, that take account of the need for technology functions to run, grow, and transform
Technology Sourcing:
- Develop sourcing strategies to shape how clients engage the global market for technologies and services, and execute those strategies to maximize value and minimize risk from vendor relationships
- Review and advise on tech vendor proposals and contracts, identify gaps and risks, and provide observations informed by leading practices
- Define the governance and processes that will enable clients to better manage their vendor relationships, ensure vendor accountability to contractual obligations, and reduce value leakage
Your key responsibilities
Your role as a Senior Manager will be as a trusted consulting executive and advisor to lead meaningful impact with EY’s clients and our teams.
- Apply a deep understanding of business and technology to solve complex problems. Lead the development of thought leadership and points of view that address disruptive market forces.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of high-quality services and ensure activities and deliverables meet EY’s quality standards while managing scope, timelines, and client expectations.
- Lead, build and maintain long-term, productive relationships with clients. Actively navigate and leverage the global EY network to bring the full breadth of the firm’s capabilities to every engagement.
- Lead business development by identifying market opportunities and communicating EY’s value proposition. Lead the pursuit process, including RFP responses and proposal development, to expand the firm’s footprint and impact.
- Lead engagements by overseeing project economics (budget and margin), developing detailed work plans, and ensuring strict compliance with all quality and risk management procedures.
Skills and attributes for success
- Strong interpersonal, compelling communication, workshop facilitation, and presentation skills, particularly interfacing with client executives
- High-level of autonomy, and ability to lead the completion of work and provide and manage a team
- Strong critical thinking and analytical mindset in terms of taking abstract questions and issues and structuring them into manageable work streams
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and able to thrive in dynamic environments
- Strong project management skills and delivery of quality services
- Knowledge and passion for strategy, innovation, and technology in business with an ability to quickly learn and understand various sectors and subject matters to apply this insight to clients
- Passion for learning about the latest trends surrounding technology, service providers and how integrated to the client’s technology landscape to drive value
- Strong ability and proven experience in building and developing a high performing team/culture and desire to mentor, develop and manage staff
Ideally, you’ll also
- Experience in leading business development efforts (sales planning and pursuits, RFP responses, proposals)
- Experience in leading consulting engagements (developing and managing project plans, engagement economics, quality and risk management)
- A university or post graduate degree and relevant professional designation (certifications such as, ITIL, Scrum Master, Product Owner, SAFe, TOGAF, PMP/PRINCE2 and others are considered relevant)
- A willingness to travel to meet client needs, while we experienced changes to the way we work with our clients (often hybrid), some travel may still require – up to a maximum of 60% of your time
What we look for
- At the Senior Manager level, a minimum of eight years’ experience with a consulting firm offering management and/or technology related services and/or a successful track record in tech strategy and transformation related initiatives, in a client-facing or within an organization in a project, transformation, or strategy type role
- Experience leading a variety of technology related strategy and transformation projects such as operating model design, service delivery transformation, tech-enabled business transformations, value creation strategies, strategic technology planning process; and enterprise cost reduction enabled by technology
- Experience leading, managing, and delivering projects in a technology/digital environment, managing both external clients/stakeholders and internal leaders and project teams
