Associate/Executive – Privacy & Data Protection Services

The Opportunity

You will advise on multiple and challenging regulatory advisory and compliance engagements related to privacy & data protection (in relation to Personal Data Protection Act of Sri Lanka).

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Identifying, understanding, and escalating clients’ compliance risk events/issues in a timely manner and focusing on fixing the root causes of the issues.
• Leading development of recommendations and solution implementation plans on complex compliance issues.
• Undertaking legal and regulatory research and assess and evaluate the impact of changes in applicable legislation and best international practices.
• Maintaining effective client relationships
• Drafting regulatory alerts, thought leadership materials about changes to legislation and regulations.
• Supporting the business to identify and reach out to potential clients.

Skills and Attributes

• Minimum of 1-3 experience in compliance, legal, risk related areas. Hands-on experience in privacy & data protection field will be an added advantage.
• Following or completed an academic/professional qualification in Law, Business Management, IT or any other related qualification.
• Proven high-quality spoken and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and maintain strict confidentiality.
