GDS Design Studio, a part of MENA GDS’ Customer and Growth team, combines design, marketing, and customer experience (CX) technology to drive client growth and drive organizational efficiency. The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer to join our studio.

This is a hands-on role where you will:

• Shape and deliver design strategy, experience direction, and compelling storytelling for digital products and services.
• Lead design projects from concept to delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
• Facilitate workshops and co-creation sessions with stakeholders and team members.
• Contribute to RFPs, proposals, and client pursuits, helping to shape design-led solutions.
• Drive discovery using design thinking methodologies and user research.
• Provide creative input and oversee the delivery of UX/UI output across web, mobile apps, immersive experiences, static design, and motion/animated creatives.
• Collaborate closely with technology teams, demonstrating strong technical awareness (custom development, low-code, ERP, BI, integrations).
• Leverage GenAI tools for research, ideation, and rapid prototyping.
• Mentor and support junior designers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
• You will participate across the full design and delivery lifecycle—from insights and visioning to prototyping and solution shaping—while championing design excellence and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse requirements and translate them into clear design solutions.
• Develop and maintain design themes, guides, and scalable systems in line with brand standards.
• Collaborate with designers, product owners, content writers, and SMEs.
• Conduct research and benchmarking to inform design options.
• Identify user problems and explain solutions with clear rationale.
• Create wireframes, storyboards, UIs, icons, and micro-interactions.
• Review implemented designs and coordinate bug fixes and enhancements.
• Integrate gamification and micro-interaction strategies.
• Use Figma, Adobe CC, Sketch, Miro, Mural, and MS Office.
• Stay up to date with new design tools and practices.
• Mentor junior designers and uphold design quality and accessibility.
• Ensure design quality, consistency, and governance across projects.
• Ability to travel for client engagement, workshops, and project needs in MENA.

Requirements

• Education
• Design school and Art School graduates/post graduates
• Any other discipline
• Experience
• 6-8 years in UX UI design roles with a strong portfolio
• Understands business and numbers and its relationship with creative services

Technical Skills

• Hands-on expertise with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Miro, and Mural for design, collaboration, and prototyping.
• Practical experience with GenAI tools for research synthesis, ideation, and rapid prototyping.
• Strong background in design systems and scalable UI frameworks.
• Comfortable working across web, mobile, immersive, static, and motion creative formats.
• Adaptable to evolving technology platforms and AI-driven design workflows.

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with designers, developers, product managers, and stakeholders.
• Ability to explain technical constraints and design decisions to non-technical audiences.
• Detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to quality and precision.
• Systematic problem-solving approach, able to debug UX/UI issues efficiently.
• Strong organisational skills: able to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
