The Opportunity

At EY-Parthenon, our unique combination of transformative strategy, transactions, tax and corporate finance delivers real-world value – solutions that work in practice, not just on paper. Benefiting from EY’s full spectrum of services, we’ve reimagined strategic consulting to work in a world of increasing complexity. With deep functional and sector expertise, paired with innovative AI-powered technology and an investor mindset, we partner with CEOs, boards, private equity and governments every step of the way.

As a Senior Consultant or Manager, you will work with many of the world’s largest organisations, fastest-growing companies and private equity firms on some of the most complex deals in the global market. You will help to identify key value drivers, challenge assumptions about future performance, search for and advise on hidden value, and work with other EY service teams to deliver an integrated approach to our clients before, during and after the transaction.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team at the forefront of delivering deep financial due diligence and strategic transaction advice to clients operating in a dynamic global market.

This is a hybrid position based in Warrang – Sydney. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Consultant / Manager, you will:

  • Participate in due diligence engagements related to the acquisition or disposal of businesses by private equity investors or strategic corporate buyers
  • Oversee and review detailed analysis of financial and operational results, including assessment of historical performance, quality of earnings, working capital requirements and key business drivers.
  • Conduct and lead management interviews, challenge assumptions and identify risks, trends and commercial insights that influence valuation and deal structures.
  • Prepare and review high quality client deliverables, including pro forma financial information, diligence reports and executive summaries.
  • Coordinate cross functional teams within EY to deliver an integrated approach before, during, and after the transaction.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, contributing to a high performance culture and technical capability uplift.

Skills and Attributes for success

  • A bachelors or master’s degree in accounting, business, finance or economics preferred
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience, ideally in transaction diligence, M&A, corporate finance, FP&A, or audit - preferably within the financial services sector, with demonstrated progression and leadership capability.
