At EY, you will have the chance to build a career as unique as you are. We are looking for an Experienced Consultant to join our Tax Financial Services (FS) team, supporting some of the largest financial institutions operating in Portugal and across the EMEIA region.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast‑growing team where you will contribute to high‑impact tax projects, develop deep technical expertise, and collaborate closely with leading professionals in banking, insurance, asset management, and other financial sectors.

Your key responsibilities

As an Experienced Consultant within Tax Financial Services (FS) team, you will:

  • Support the delivery of tax advisory and compliance services for clients in the financial services industry, including banks, insurers, investment funds and fintechs.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of tax returns, reporting obligations, and tax documentation for financial institutions.
  • Perform tax technical research and contribute to the analysis of complex tax matters, including corporate income tax, VAT, withholding taxes, transfer pricing and financial instruments taxation.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary projects related to regulatory changes, operational tax, cross‑border transactions, and tax risk management.
  • Contribute to client deliverables, including memos, reports, presentations, and impact assessments.
  • Support senior team members in managing engagements, coordinating fieldwork, and communicating with clients.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and high‑quality service delivery.
  • Stay up to date on tax legislation, regulatory developments, and industry trends affecting the financial sector.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English;
  • Proficiency in Portuguese;
  • Interest in the financial services industry and curiosity to learn.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Degree in Law, Economics, Management, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in Tax, preferably with a focus on Financial Services (Banking, Insurance, Asset Management).
  • Solid understanding of corporate income tax and/or indirect tax concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

  • Experience in a big four environment or a financial institution.
  • Exposure to international tax matters or cross‑border projects.
