Delivery Manager – Infra Ops
The opportunity
The Senior Manager –Infrastructure Operations, plays a strategic and leadership role within the TechOps organization. This position oversees the delivery, stability, reliability, and continuous improvement of all infrastructure services across the enterprise. The ideal candidate brings deep technical understanding, strong service delivery experience, and proven leadership in managing enterprise-scale Cloud & on‑premise environments.
Your key responsibilities
- Service Delivery:
- Own end‑to‑end delivery and operational readiness of Cloud & On-prem infrastructure services—including compute, storage, network, virtualization, backup/DR, and datacenter operations.
- Ensure all infrastructure solutions delivered meet operational standards, SLAs, security guidelines, and compliance requirements.
- Lead capacity planning, performance management, hardware lifecycle, and infrastructure modernization efforts.
- Operational Leadership
- Work closely with Operations teams (L1–L4) to ensure smooth handover of projects into steady-state operations.
- Establish operational playbooks, SOPs, monitoring standards, patching strategies, and incident response processes.
- Drive uptime, service reliability, and adherence to ITIL-based operational frameworks.
- Team and People Management:
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team of architects, engineers, administrators, and delivery specialists.
- Mentor and develop team members, building strong technical and operational capabilities.
- Collaborate proactively with security, applications, cloud, and network teams to deliver integrated operational services.
- Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
- Maintain governance for infrastructure delivery—including dashboards, KPIs, SLA performance, and operational maturity metrics.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements, internal controls, and regulatory frameworks (ISO, SOC, etc.).
- Anticipate and mitigate operational risks related to capacity, security, hardware failures, or obsolescence.
- Innovation & Automation
- Identify improvement opportunities within provisioning, monitoring, patching, and DR procedures.
- Champion automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and accelerate service delivery.
- Introduce operational resilience strategies including redundancy, high availability, and proactive health checks.
Skills and attributes for success
- IT experience with significant leadership experience in on‑premise & cloud infrastructure delivery and operations.
- Excellent understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Asset).
- Ability to manage complex, globally distributed operational environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with DevOps, On-premises and cloud infrastructure, including monitoring and observability tools.
- Ability to conduct service performance reviews, analyse trends, and provide actionable insights for continuous service improvement.
- Prior experience in vendor coordination and managing escalated technical issues.
- Should have deep knowledge of complex solution architecting; have worked on various technologies, Infrastructure space, Cloud and governance
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical details into clear business strategies for non-technical stakeholders.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Typically requires 15+ years of relevant industry experience in Infrastructure / Cloud operations, or consulting, with a significant portion in a leadership or management role.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
Preferred Skills
- Certification in ITIL V4 / PMP.
- Certifications in any of Microsoft (MCSE) / VMWare (VCP/VCAP) / Cisco (CCNA/CCNP)
- Knowledge of IT Service Management and cloud services in any of the CSP like Azure or AWS.
- Strong ownership and accountability mindset.
- Strategic thinker with operational discipline.
