You will assist in environment provisioning, configuration, patching, troubleshooting, and day‑to‑day operational tasks. This role is ideal for engineers who have solid foundational knowledge in Linux/Unix, automation, and environment support, and who are growing toward deeper SRE practices. You will collaborate with senior engineers, application teams, and environment management teams to ensure smooth operations and support ongoing improvements.

Your key responsibilities

Environment Management

  • Support provisioning, configuration, and de‑provisioning of environments under guidance.
  • Maintain baseline configurations and follow established setup standards.
  • Support database refreshes, reference data updates, and basic environment sync activities.

Operational Support & Troubleshooting

  • Perform daily checks: logs, health checks, patch validation, backups, archival activities.
  • Monitor system performance and escalate bottlenecks or anomalies to senior engineers.
  • Troubleshoot basic to intermediate infra/environment issues; participate in RCA by gathering data and documenting findings.

ITSM & Change Management

  • Handle incidents and service requests using ITSM tools.
  • Provide accurate ticket documentation and follow management processes.
  • Assist in patch lifecycle tasks such as testing, validation, and post‑patch checks.

SRE & Automation

  • Apply introductory SRE concepts such as observability basics (logs, metrics).
  • Support automation of repeatable tasks using Shell/Bash/Python (with review/approval).
  • Participate in initiatives to reduce manual work and improve stability.

Lifecycle & Migration Support

  • Support identification of end‑of‑life components and assist with dependency checks.
  • Participate in migrations, replacements, and decommissioning tasks.
  • Update asset inventories and assist with post‑migration validations.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Good knowledge of Unix/Linux administration (logs, services, processes).
  • Scripting familiarity (Shell/Bash/Python).
  • Understanding of on‑prem basics: file systems, networking fundamentals, system performance.
  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure concepts (Azure/AWS/GCP).
  • Experience working with monitoring tools and dashboards.
  • Strong troubleshooting curiosity and problem‑solving mindset.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work in structured support models (L1/L2).
  • Detail‑oriented, process‑driven approach to work.
  • Ability to work in a shift‑based or shared‑service environment

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 2–4 years of experience in IT Infrastructure Support (Cloud or On‑Prem).
  • Hands‑on experience with Linux/Unix (logs, services, performance basics).
  • Working knowledge of at least one cloud platform (Azure/AWS/GCP).
  • Basic scripting experience for automation (Shell/Bash/Python).
  • Exposure to environment provisioning, patching, and health checks.
  • Experience using ITSM tools for incident and change management.
  • Willingness to work in a 24×7 support model.
  • No location constraints.

Technologies and Tools

Must have

  • Linux/Unix administration (RHEL/Ubuntu basics)
  • Scripting fundamentals (Shell/Bash/Python)
  • ITSM platforms (ServiceNow/Jira/Azure DevOps)
  • Monitoring tools (any of: Nagios, Grafana, Splunk dashboards)
  • Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
  • Any basic Cloud certification

Good to have

  • Cloud Infra certification
  • Advanced Linux administration
  • Patching & vulnerability management tools (YUM/DNF, Satellite, Rapid7)
  • Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk for deep observability
  • Automation tools (Ansible, Git/GitHub)
  • VMware/vSphere & backup tools experience
  • Networking certifications
  • ITIL Foundation
  • SRE Practitioner / Site Reliability courses
  • Container basics (Docker)

What we look for

  • Enthusiastic learners with a passion for cloud technologies and DevOps practices.
