EY-GDS Business Consulting -SC&O – Senior Manager – Pre-Sales

EY GDS Business Consulting, one of the fastest-growing service lines in EY GDS Client Service, provides Technical & Business Consulting services. You will work with global professionals to solve some of the toughest challenges faced by clients. As part of our EY GDS – Business Consulting team, you will help clients to assess their business processes, evaluate & develop transformation strategies and optimize the various Business processes using the proven EY approach.

The Opportunity:

We’re looking for Sr Managers with expertise in Business Consulting (Supply Chain, Finance), Pre-sales and Analytics to join the Pre-sales Team of EY-GDS Business Consulting. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading firm whilst being instrumental in the growth of an emerging service offering. The consultants are expected to work on pre-sales activities of Business Consulting service line for our existing and potential clients globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • At least 16-20 years within the relevant domain of Business Consulting functions across industries and work experience providing solutions in a commercial setting.
  • Collaborate with the partner organizations and functional teams to understand key requirements and develop tailored solutions for our global clients supporting membership firms.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify industry trends, competitive landscapes, and potential opportunities for client or project specific assignments/RFPs.
  • Build thought leadership papers and Point of views specific to industrial sectors and clients.
  • Project manage key proactive and reactive pursuits through the deal cycle.
  • Utilize advanced analytics tools such as PowerBI to analyze large datasets and extract actionable insights.
  • Design and automate data reporting processes to streamline operations and enhance decision-making capabilities.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality RFP (Request for Proposal) responses that effectively showcase our company's capabilities and value proposition.
  • Create compelling presentations and sales collateral using PowerPoint to articulate complex concepts and solutions in a clear and concise manner.
  • Drive innovation and creative ideation by proposing novel approaches and strategies to solve clients' business and operational challenges.
  • Take ownership of projects and initiatives, demonstrating highest levels of self-motivation, and accountability.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices in business processes to continuously enhance expertise and add value to client engagements.

General skills to have:

  • Good to have knowledge / exposure to analytical and BI tools (R/Python, SQL, Excel, Tableau/QlikView/Power BI/Alteryx).
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate insights.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations for clients and management is an essential part of the role.
  • Should be able to lead client pursuits including solution design and defending proposals in client facing orals
  • Have prior experience with metrics reporting and data analysis tasks to identify issues and opportunities for process improvements
  • Proven experience in managing projects with cross-functional and cross-country stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated and highly focused individual capable of handling ambiguity would be a best fit for this role
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Effective communication skills and experience in client-facing role are required.

Qualifications

  • MBA/ PG (Supply Chain/Finance/ Operations) from a reputed institute with 16-20 years of relevant business/consulting experience in logistics function is crucial.
  • Must have led portfolio of offerings or services and have experience in rapid scaling up of large teams
  • Experience in leading managed business service or application maintenance engagements
  • Familiarity with market leading COTS solutions having led implementation or rollout projects
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation abilities.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
