EY GDS – Client Decisions & Insights – Assistant Director
As an Assistant Director – Client Decisions & Insights, you will embed actionable, demand-driven intelligence into EY’s pursuit process, driving strategic differentiation and profitability. This role combines market and competitor analysis, win-loss insights, and price positioning to strengthen proposals for EY’s prospective clients.
You will design Competitive Intelligence (CI) tools, dashboards, and frameworks, advise on deal strategy (win themes, differentiators), and collaborate with Commercial Architects and Pursuit Leaders to shape go-to-market approaches.
Acting as a strategic change agent, you will foster a culture of fact-based decision-making, ensuring EY pursuits maintain a competitive edge against competitors. You will advise engagement teams on competitive market price spectrum for various services and support them in positioning EY’s price via assessment if EY’s differentiation power and client’s willingness to pay.
Your key responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic advisor to pursuit teams and PPED leadership, embedding fact-based intelligence into deal strategy, pricing strategies and commercial constructs to strengthen EY’s value proposition.
- Conceptualize and execute win-loss interviews and survey design, understanding interviewee profiles to capture nuanced insights about the company/competitor behaviors.
- Lead thought leadership initiatives, synthesizing industry trends and competitive behaviors into insights that strengthen EY’s market positioning.
- Implement gold-standard frameworks for pursuit-specific competitive intelligence support, ensuring consistency and scalability across engagements.
- Design and operationalize CI assets - battle cards, dashboards, and pricing benchmarks that enable real-time intelligence on Online platforms for high-stakes pursuits.
- Champion adoption of CI frameworks and tools through training and facilitation, accelerating commercial transformation.
- Engage Engagement Partner/Director, Pursuit Lead and Business Development communities with timely competitive insights for CI Activation.
- Mentor and coach team members, building capability in competitive intelligence and consultative influence.
Skills and attributes for success
- Executive Communication; ability to present insights persuasively to senior leaders.
- Expertise in conceptualizing and executing win-loss interviews and survey/research frameworks.
- Advanced ability to synthesize intelligence from Third Party Analysts (TPAs), interviews, and market signals into actionable recommendations.
- Strong storytelling skills to create engaging narratives and motivate action.
- Experience in building scalable CI ecosystems and establishing refresh processes to maintain living knowledge tools.
- Proficiency in CI platforms (e.g., Klue, Crayon, Contify) and ability to leverage technology to improve analysis and communication of intelligence.
- Work with TPAs to secure the highest quality research reports, ensuring insights are robust, relevant, and actionable for EY strategic pursuits.
- Operate with agility and independence while driving collaboration across global, matrixed teams under tight timelines.
Qualifications for the role:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Data Analytics, AI, Operations Research, Econometrics); MBA preferred.
- Experience: 8–12+ years in data analysis, data engineering, or related fields, ideally within professional services.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; knowledge of Power BI for advanced visualization and scalability
- No mandatory certifications: relevant credentials are an advantage.

- Must be flexible with working hours according to the needs of the geography being supported.
- May be required to travel on rare occasions.
