Purpose of Role


Design and deliver integrated internal and external communications for the Global Industrials & Energy Industry (I&E) and Leadership, telling a compelling, coherent story about the industry’s value and impact to both internal and external audiences. This role will focus on special leadership communications, supporting the Industry Group Leader and senior leadership team, and will work closely with the Global I & E BMC leader, Communications & Engagement, PR and social media leads to ensure alignment and amplification. It is designed to elevate the voice of leadership within Industrials & Energy, ensuring communications are strategic, impactful, and aligned with the Industry’s transformation and growth ambitions and ensure that all key messages are landed within critical audiences especially accounts and regions.


Key Responsibilities


Strategic Leadership Communications

  • Partner directly with the Global I&E Leader and Global Sector Leaders to understand business objectives and translate them into communications strategies that reach and influence internal and external audiences.
  • Advise the Global I&E Leader and senior team on all aspects of leadership communications strategies, ensuring messaging is consistent, impactful, and aligned with business priorities and will land with impact within key target audiences.
  • Develop narratives, scripts, talking points, and presentations for the I&E IndustryLeader and Global Sector Leaders for internal events, briefings, and external speaking engagements.


Internal Communications

  • Develop and implement internal communications strategies that support Global Industry and Sector business priorities.
  • Build strong relationships with Regional counterparts, and work closely with priority Regions to co-develop communications strategies and campaigns to ensure global initiatives resonate with local audiences including GCSPs.
  • Provide direction and oversight to the Industry Communications & Engagement Assistant Director and GDS Supervising Associate.
  • Manage the intranet hub for the Industrials & Energy group, building a pipeline of stories and features, overseeing the creation of high-quality content, and collaborating with the BMC team, sales enablement and freelancers as needed.
  • Drive awareness of leadership initiatives and push engagement via internal channels (e.g., Viva Engage, email bulletins, video updates).
  • Engage with business teams to find and tell inspiring win stories and stories about the impact of our work with clients.
  • Collaborate with BMC colleagues to support launches of key campaigns and market activities.
  • Embrace innovative ways of engaging our audiences while ensuring communications align with the broader BMC and Clients & Industries messaging and communication frameworks.


External Communications

  • Work with the I&E leadership and PR and social media teams to devise and execute media and social strategies that connect leadership insights and stories with key external audiences.Raise the profile of I&E leadership within their global Industry or Sector marketplace
  • Create narratives forspeeches and prepare talking points for external events for the Global I&E Leaderwhich land the key messages for the Industry and Sectors.
  • Coordinate with BMC colleagues on PR and social media plans supporting key campaigns and market activities.

Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to create compelling content across various mediums, from speeches to social media.
  • Global mindset; curious about different audiences, local sensitivities, and mindful that much of our audience may not have English as a first language.
  • Ability to build and maintain contacts across the business and with BMC colleagues to source stories and intelligence.
  • Sound judgment; able to balance bold, distinctive storytelling with political, regulatory, and reputational sensitivities.
  • Confidence to engage with very senior stakeholders, both inside and outside the business.
  • Strategic thinking and project management skills; able to manage complex projects to completion.
  • Commercial acumen and agility; able to analyze market trends and adapt quickly to change.
  • Cultural competence and the ability to embrace diversity and foster an inclusive workplace.
  • Understanding of Global Industry and the world in which our clients and teams operate.
