The opportunity

Tax Symposium is an annual client event of 1,000+ participants held in Singapore and is one of the five global flagship events delivered by EY worldwide. This role leads the end‑to‑end strategy, planning and delivery of the Symposium, ensuring strong strategic alignment, global‑quality communications and an exceptional attendee experience for a geographically diverse audience.

The role combines strategic leadership, communications ownership and executional oversight, acting as the single accountable BMC lead for the Symposium. This includes executive engagement, program and content governance, attendee communications, event amplification, and post‑event reporting.

In addition, the role is responsible for the ongoing development, positioning and marketing of the EY Tax All.in (Paradigm Shift) campaign, ensuring alignment with Global Tax priorities and effective integration across event, content and communications activity.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Event Strategy, Governance & Leadership
    • Lead the overall strategy and delivery of the Tax Symposium, ensuring alignment with Global and Area Tax priorities and leadership expectations.
    • Partner with Steerco to secure event budget, confirm regional attendance allocations and oversee nomination governance.
    • Lead Steerco engagement, including preparation of discussion materials, updates and decision tracking.
    • Provide strategic oversight of venue, format and attendee experience to ensure brand and audience alignment.
  • Program, Content & Executive Engagement
    • Ensure consistency of core messaging with the other international Tax events delivered by BMC (including the International Tax Conference, Mobility Reimagined, Indirect Tax Symposium and the Tax Leaders Summit).
    • Define the event theme, business question (BQ), hero imagery and overall agenda structure.
    • Oversee speaker strategy, including senior internal leaders and any external speakers.
    • Own executive engagement, including keynote holds, briefing materials and opening remarks.
    • Manage VIP elements (e.g. senior dinners), including invitee strategy, communications and briefing materials.
    • Oversee content governance, including SCORE reviews, rehearsals and session support planning.
  • Communications & Engagement
    • Own and execute the end‑to‑end communications and engagement strategy for the Symposium, consolidating strategic oversight and hands‑on delivery within a single role.
    • Develop and manage the full communications plan and calendar, including:
      • Save‑the‑date
      • Invitations and registration copy
      • Nomination and countdown communications
      • Event app content
      • Post‑event thank‑you and follow‑up communications
    • Ensure messaging consistency across Global, Area and regional BMC teams and channels.
    • Draft, review and approve key communications materials, briefing notes and stakeholder updates.
  • Event Amplification & Brand Execution
    • Lead pre‑, during‑ and post‑event amplification across internal and external channels, including social media.
    • Brief and manage vendors for video, photography and other amplification assets.
    • Ensure brand governance and visual consistency across all event touchpoints, securing additional budget for branding where required.
    • Oversee post‑event wrap‑up, including content assets, reporting and leadership read‑outs.
  • Tax All.in (Paradigm Shift) Campaign Leadership
    • Own the ongoing development, positioning and marketing of the EY Tax All.in (Paradigm Shift) campaign.
    • Ensure the campaign is consistently articulated across event platforms, communications, content and leadership messaging.
    • Work closely with Global Tax BMC and content stakeholders to evolve campaign narratives and assets over time.
    • Integrate Tax All.in messaging into flagship moments, including the Tax Symposium, where appropriate.

Key Deliverables

  • Secure event budget funding and allocation of regional caps
  • Coordination of core team including C&I, events, M&E, content management, nomination team
  • Lead all Steerco meetings including development of content and outcomes
  • Full agenda for main event including theme, BQ and imagery, and any peripheral activities including VIP dinner
  • Full communications plan including nomination and attendee communications: Save-the-date; invitation and registration copy, weekly nomination emails, event app.
  • Executive engagement artifacts: Keynote holds and briefing materials for senior leaders.
  • BMC reporting: presentation covering event outcomes.
  • Post-event wrap: Event video, social amplification and stakeholder thank-you stream. Plus,
    • Ongoing Tax All.in (Paradigm Shift) campaign assets and messaging alignment.
