The opportunity
The EY Global Location Services & Incentives (GLSI) team is part of EY's Global Tax Center of Excellence, responsible for driving the firm's strategy to develop and deploy integrated global strategies and solutions for our clients.
The EY GLSI team specializes in supporting clients’ strategic investment decisions by providing a wide range of location analysis, financial and incentive advisory services. We provide tailored objective assessments, robust evaluations, while also working to ensure compliance with EU and local regulations. Founded in December 2018, the team has grown to more than 20 people, currently spread across six countries.
Due to sustained demand for the team’s services and required focus on growth, the new role of Director has been created to focus on both delivery of existing projects, as well as the strategic development & expansion of the business in the EMEIA region.
Your role in terms of delivery will be to lead the engagement teams, providing location and incentives advice to our clients on their strategic investment projects. The team uses data-driven models to help identify, score and filter locations as part of the site selection process, whilst also supporting incentives’ negotiations with governments.
Our services are sector and project agnostic. The team works on a variety of investment types from large manufacturing investments, HQ selections to new technology centres.
Due to the nature of the projects, you will need to build a solid internal network and engage across the EY service lines (Tax, Consulting, People Advisory Services, etc.) across our global network and with close links to EY-Parthenon when considering greenfield footprint strategy. You will be required to engage and own relationships with the C-Suite of our clients, who are the main buyers of the team’s services.
Your key responsibilities
- Develop full understanding of core EY processes and procedures, key to successful accountability of the role
- Quality & Risk Management
- Financial systems – considering engagement metrics of revenue, margin etc.
- Part of leadership group for GLSI:
- Support and further develop high-performing team culture
- Role model leadership behaviours
- Develop talent through feedback, coaching and mentoring
- Management of the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding projects, ensuring a practical / business-focus approach taken
- Overall responsibility of quality of client service
- Build and develop relationships with European and global governmental organisations and investment agencies
- Support client project negotiations with governments linked to investment incentives
- Lead interface with other GLSI and EY colleagues in the relevant national offices to support incentives opportunities and processes as part of the project.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, winning work proactively and contributing to winning new clients
- Utilise C-Suite relationships to build downstream EY opportunities
- Build, develop and manage cross-service line, cross-border relationships in EY and subsequent opportunities generated

- The hourly pay range for this job, in the US, is $XXX per hour. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.
