Global Delivery Services refers to EY's worldwide network of service delivery centers. The GDS team plays an important role in EY’s strategy by ensuring effective support to EY’s growth agenda.

Our innovation specialists serve the GDS Client Service and Enablement Services teams, along with Service Lines, Core Business Services and Sectors. The Opportunity

We are looking for a Business Consultant to join the EY GDS Consulting Oil & Gas team. As part of EY Consulting, you will lead strategic engagements for downstream oil & gas clients, focusing on operational excellence, digital transformation, and optimization of business process. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, gaining exposure to both the business requirements and the technology that enables them. You will leverage deep industry expertise and advanced technologies to deliver data-driven insights, process improvements, and sustainable value creation.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver consulting engagements across the downstream oil & gas value chain.
• Develop and present strategic roadmaps for digital transformation of downstream oil and gas business
• Define and document new processes, ensuring alignment between business requirements and technology solutions.
• Leverage data, analytics, IoT, AI/ML, cloud platforms and digital twins to generate insights, improve decision-making and operational performance for oil and gas downstream clients
• Engage with clients across global geographies, collaborate with EY member firms and internal subject-matter experts, and maintain high-quality stakeholder relationships.
• Work closely with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and value creation
• Mentor and manage consulting teams, build capability within the team, ensure delivery excellence and knowledge transfer.
• Facilitate organizational change management for digital adoption and capability building.
• Contribute to EY’s Energy Consulting practice through whitepapers, client workshops, and solution development.
• Support business development efforts by identifying new opportunities and shaping proposals.

Skills and attributes for success

Must have

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical or equivalent)
• Approximately 10–15 years of total experience, with a blend of downstream oil & gas industry experience and consulting experience.
• Sound domain knowledge of downstream oil and gas sector preferably in Fertilizer industry.
• Downstream oil and gas manufacturing experience in refinery and petrochemicals industry is also preferred.
• Strong consulting skills: problem solving, structured thinking, articulating insights and recommendations, writing high-quality client deliverables and presentations.
• Prior working experience in consulting, strategy, digital transformation for oil & gas business.
• Prior working experience in Oil and gas capital projects.
• Proficiency in MS office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills; ability to operate in a global, cross‐functional environment.
• Familiarity with Aspen and Aveva suits including process historian tools (Aspen IP.21, Aveva PI), process simulations tool, process optimization tools (APC/RTO/Romeo etc.) is preferred.
• Familiarity with asset performance management tools will be added advantage.

Good to have

• Master’s degree (MBA or related).
• Experience working with global consulting firms or energy-focused advisory teams.
