As our Senior Consultant, Corporate Tax, you’ll join a high-performing and growing team, supporting a broad range of corporate clients with compliance and advisory work across complex corporate tax matters. You’ll work across multiple engagements building relationships, developing your technical capability and collaborating with EY specialists locally and across our global tax network to deliver practical, value-add outcomes for clients.

This position is based in our Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

Ko Tō Rourou | Your key responsibilities

In this role, you’ll help clients navigate complex tax legislation and deliver high-quality corporate tax outcomes working with autonomy while being a valued member of a collaborative team.

  • Deliver corporate tax compliance and advisory support across a portfolio of clients, with a focus on quality, clarity and practicality.
  • Contribute to client relationships by preparing clear recommendations, supporting meetings, and working alongside Partners and senior team members to deliver outcomes.
  • Support tax governance activities and assist with tax authority interactions, drawing on EY specialist teams where needed (e.g., international tax, transfer pricing, transactions and controversy).
  • Coach and support junior team members, contributing to an inclusive, high-performing culture and helping others grow.

Ngā Pūkenga | Skills and attributes for success

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring strong technical foundations in corporate tax, paired with a collaborative approach and a desire to learn and grow.

  • 2+ years corporate tax experience (professional services and/or large corporate environment), with New Zealand corporate tax experience preferred.
  • Confidence communicating with clients and stakeholders, with the ability to translate technical issues into practical advice.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines with strong attention to detail.
