The Opportunity

We are looking for an SAP PP Senior Consultant to join the EY GDS Team. As part of our EY GDS Manufacturing team, you will be responsible for providing functional support for SAP Production Planning across various regions for our global clients. You will collaborate closely with cross functional teams to address issues, implement enhancements, and optimize design to meet business requirements.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related technology field (Mechanical, Production and industrial Engineering, Computer, Engineering, Science, etc.) or comparable job experiences.
  • 4+ Years of experience required in SAP PP preferably with Global client.
  • Experience with at least one full-cycle SAP implementations in manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of discrete and/or process manufacturing scenarios.
  • Experience with MRP configuration and optimization.
  • Knowledge of integration touchpoints with MM, SD, QM, and FI/CO.
  • Ability to interact with business stakeholders and drive requirement workshops.
  • Understand business needs and deliver solutions to make processes more efficient and simpler whenever possible.

Your Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will spend your time engaging with clients and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery. You will face challenges that require analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, providing you with opportunities to learn and grow in a dynamic environment. This position may require regular travel to meet with clients, allowing you to build relationships and understand their needs better. Key responsibilities include:

  • Interacting with business stakeholders to evaluate business models and processes.
  • Analyzing newly implemented technology solutions to verify they meet business requirements.
  • Collaborating with technical teams to design and deliver system architecture solutions.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Resource (SMR) for SAP Manufacturing during project implementations. Facilitate design workshops and discussions, gather requirements, and recommend tailored S/4 HANA best practices.
  • Successfully guide the implementation of these solutions within client SAP ecosystems.
  • Demonstrate in-depth functional capabilities of SAP Production Planning (PP) and associated modules, coupled with a strong business acumen.
  • Provide exceptional client service by tracking project milestones, managing risks, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders regarding progress and results.
  • Cultivate and sustain relationships with key client personnel at all levels.

  • In a typical engagement, you will engage with the key stakeholders to assess their business and IT needs in the manufacturing and quality management domains.
  • You will provide guidance on leveraging SAP capabilities to address their pain points and identify gaps beyond standard solutions.
  • You will initiate the requirement gathering, architect solutions, blueprinting, testing, complete the workflow and documentation, as well as the functional design of the solution.
  • You will collaborate with stakeholders and the technical team to translate requirements into effective business solutions, overseeing configurations, customizations, and integrations with SAP and non-SAP systems. The following skills and attributes will make a significant impact:

Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.

  • Proficiency in technology business requirements definition and analysis.
  • Experience in system configuration design and technology cost-benefit analysis.
  • Ability to manage client relationships and communicate with impact

Ideally, you’ll also

  • Prior consulting industry experience or deep functional experience in the manufacturing space.
  • Sound experience in configuring BOMs, Routings, Work Centers, MRP, Production/Process Orders, and Batch Management.
  • Good knowledge in PP master data (Material Master, Bill of Material), Sales and Production Plans, Long Term Planning, Demand Management, Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Capacity Planning.
  • Experience with areas like Product Planning, Forecasting, MRP, Manufacturing execution, Inventory/Warehouse management, Product Costing, and Quality Management.
  • Knowledge of key integration points with other modules related to PP e.g. FI, CO, SD.
  • Should have good analytical skills and the ability to guide technical team to work on enhancement, interfaces including a clean requirement gathering from Business team.
  • SAP Certification in SAP PP.
