Finance Transformation Senior Consultant - Process Mining: Celonis

Location: Katowice - 2 days in office / 3 days remote

The opportunity

EY GDS Poland is a member of EY’s global integrated service delivery network. As part of the EY GDS Poland Finance Consulting Practice, you will support global clients in transforming their finance processes through process intelligence and advanced analytics.

The Celonis Senior Consultant plays a key role in delivering finance transformation initiatives by leveraging Celonis Process Intelligence, working directly with global clients to drive measurable business outcomes. The role combines finance process expertise, stakeholder engagement, and data‑driven insights to identify inefficiencies, support transformation initiatives, and deliver measurable business outcomes.

This role supports two competency paths, depending on experience and strengths:

• Functional / Business Consulting path – Business Analysis and Process Expertise focus
• Technical / Solution Engineering path – Data Engineering focus

Consultants may specialize in one path or operate in a hybrid capacity. While all Consultants are expected to understand both business and technical aspects of Celonis-enabled transformations, individuals are not required to be experts in both paths.

Your key responsibilities (applicable for both paths):

• Deliver finance process intelligence and transformation initiatives using Celonis, with a primary focus on finance processes (e.g. R2R, P2P, O2C)
• Apply process mining and analytics to identify inefficiencies, control gaps, and value‑creation opportunities
• Translate finance and business questions into data‑driven insights and recommendations
• Identify root causes of process issues and quantify business impact
• Deliver end‑to‑end Celonis‑based process discovery, analysis, and improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with business, IT, transformation, and data teams
• Prepare and present client‑ready insights, dashboards, and recommendations
• Communicate risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans to stakeholders
• Support value realization and continuous improvement initiatives
• Contribute to go‑to‑market activities, including proposals and RFP responses

Functional Consulting Responsibilities:

• Facilitate working-level discovery workshops (data and process related)
• Convert business questions and workshop outcomes into clear analytical and technical requirements for Celonis solution engineers and data engineers
• Translate insights into prioritized, value-led transformation initiatives
• Support finance leadership in decision-making and roadmap definition
• Lead and support finance process analysis
• Interpret Celonis outputs to drive business insights and improvement recommendations
• Facilitate process discovery, value identification, and validation workshops
• Define KPIs, benchmarks, governance models, and improvement roadmaps
• Convert business questions and workshop outcomes into clear analytical and technical requirements
• Build value cases and track realized benefits
• Support change management and adoption of insights
• Act as a trusted advisor to finance stakeholders

Technical Consulting Responsibilities:

• Design and build scalable, enterprise-grade Celonis data and knowledge models for finance processes
• Develop and optimize advanced PQL logic, calculations, and performance‑efficient dashboards
• Design custom KPIs, data transformations, and reusable analytics components
• Integrate Celonis with source systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle)
• Ensure data quality, scalability, and performance optimization
• Build action flows, automations, and advanced dashboards
• Provide technical leadership, standards, and best practices
• Support solution architecture and technical design for complex implementations and proposals

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Proven hands‑on experience with Celonis Process Intelligence
• Advanced analytical, problem‑solving, and data‑interpretation skills, enabling insight‑driven decision‑making
• Ability to bridge business and technical teams, supported by strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills
• Fluent in English

Functional path:

• Strong understanding of finance processes and KPIs (e.g. R2R, P2P, O2C)
• Ability to translate business requirements into actionable, Celonis‑based analytical solutions
• Proven ability to manage client expectations and diverse stakeholders in complex delivery environments

Technical path:

• Hands‑on experience designing and building Celonis data models and analytics
• Strong experience with PQL and performance‑efficient dashboard development
• Experience using flat files and integrating Celonis with ERP/source systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle)
