The opportunity

As a Technical Business Analyst, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering complex data transformation initiatives across large-scale enterprise environments. Working at the intersection of business, data and architecture, you’ll help define how data is sourced, structured and consumed, translating fragmented data landscapes into clear, scalable solutions.

You’ll partner with business stakeholders, data product teams and platform SMEs to understand data lineage, ownership and dependencies across upstream and downstream systems. From discovery through to solution design, you’ll contribute to defining data acquisition, migration approaches and ongoing operating models that enable high-quality, trusted data outcomes.

based in Naarm – Melbourne, Boorloo – Perth, Meanjin – Brisbane or Warrang – Sydney. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead discovery and analysis to map data flows, lineage, dependencies and ownership across complex ecosystems
  • Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders, report users, and platform teams to elicit and refine requirements
  • Translate business and data needs into clear artefacts including requirement specifications, data acquisition plans and detailed work packages
  • Contribute to solution design, including data flows, architecture alignment and migration treatment approaches
  • Work closely with product, platform and delivery teams to support build, testing and reconciliation activities, ensuring data quality and integrity
  • Identify business change impacts and support stakeholders through the transition to new data processes and operating models

  • Proficiency in SQL and exposure to Python or similar languages for data analysis
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly and effectively

Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Experience in insurance or financial services environments
  • Exposure to business intelligence and reporting tools (e.g. Tableau, dashboards, visualisation, self-service reporting)
