The opportunity

We are looking for professionals with 6–8 years of experience supporting M&A transactions, with a strong focus on Operational Due Diligence, standalone cost assessment, cost and operational databook preparation, benchmarking, and transaction analytics.

The role will involve supporting buy-side, sell-side, carve-out and separation engagements by helping clients assess operational performance, identify value drivers, estimate standalone costs, develop robust data-backed insights, and support decision-making across the transaction lifecycle.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading team and build a rewarding career through exposure to diverse global engagements, continuous learning, mentoring, and close collaboration with senior stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of transaction-related engagements, with emphasis on Operational Due Diligence, standalone costing, databook preparation, benchmarking, and transaction analysis.
  • Conduct analysis of operational, financial, commercial, organizational and cost data to identify key business insights, risks, opportunities, and performance improvement areas.
  • Support preparation of operational databooks and cost databooks, including data collation, cleansing, validation, structuring, analysis, and presentation of findings.
  • Assist in developing standalone cost models for carve-outs, separations and transactions, including assessment of stranded costs, one-time costs, recurring costs and cost dis-synergies.
  • Conduct benchmarking analysis across functions, geographies, business units or peer groups to assess operational efficiency, cost competitiveness, productivity and performance gaps.
  • Support Operational Due Diligence workstreams by assessing operating model maturity, functional effectiveness, cost structure, scalability, operational risks, and value creation opportunities.
  • Develop client-ready outputs including analysis packs, diligence reports, databooks, executive presentations, dashboards and management discussion materials.
  • Work with large and complex datasets using Excel, Power BI, Alteryx or similar tools to generate actionable insights and support transaction decision-making.
  • Coordinate multiple workstreams, manage timelines, track dependencies, risks, issues and milestones, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
  • Support stakeholder discussions, data request management, management interviews, status reporting and engagement governance.
  • Contribute to broader transaction work products such as operating model assessment, TSA support, synergy analysis, Day 1 readiness, 100-day planning, integration planning and separation execution, where required.
  • Manage and coach junior team members, review work products, ensure analytical rigour, and support their professional development.
  • Contribute to business development activities including proposals, credentials, thought leadership, sector research and client pursuit materials.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong understanding of the M&A transaction lifecycle, particularly due diligence, carve-outs, separations, integrations and transformation programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems, analyse complex datasets and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Ability to work with financial, operational, headcount, functional cost, vendor, customer, site-level or business-unit-level data.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to build structured models, analysis packs and executive-ready presentations.
  • Experience using data visualization or analytics tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, Visio or similar platforms.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to present complex analysis clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Effective project management, stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, transaction-driven environments with tight deadlines and evolving priorities.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across global, cross-functional and multicultural teams.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Postgraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, or a related discipline from a reputed institution.
  • 6–8 years of relevant consulting and/or industry experience supporting transactions, transformations, integrations, or separations.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Operational due diligence, standalone cost analysis, databook preparation, synergy assessment, benchmarking or transaction analytics.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience working with financial, operational, organizational, or transaction-related data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, Visio, or similar tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Willingness to undertake international travel as required.
