We are looking for an experienced AWS Cloud Data Architect – Senior Manager to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale cloud data platforms and modernization programs. The individual will be responsible for defining data architecture strategy, governing enterprise data assets, leading architecture decisions, and guiding engineering teams in delivering scalable, secure, and business-aligned data solutions on AWS. This role requires strong stakeholder management, solution leadership, and the ability to drive data transformation initiatives across complex enterprise environments.

Your key responsibilities

Data Strategy & Architecture Leadership

• Define enterprise data architecture vision, standards, and roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
• Lead the design of modern data platforms, data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses, and analytics ecosystems on AWS.
• Establish architecture principles, governance frameworks, and best practices across multiple programs and accounts.
• Drive cloud data modernization, migration, and transformation initiatives.

AWS Data Platform Architecture

• Architect scalable and secure solutions leveraging AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR, Athena, Lambda, Lake Formation, Kinesis, and Bedrock.
• Define reference architectures for batch, streaming, real-time analytics, and AI/ML workloads.
• Ensure adherence to AWS Well-Architected Framework, security standards, and cost optimization principles.
• Drive data platform resiliency, observability, and performance optimization.

Enterprise Data Governance

• Define and implement data governance, metadata management, data quality, lineage, and master data management frameworks.
• Partner with security and compliance teams to ensure regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
• Establish enterprise-wide standards for data modeling and information architecture.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Engage with client executives, business leaders, and technology stakeholders to define data transformation strategies.
• Lead architecture review boards and provide direction to solution architects and engineering teams.
• Mentor architects, engineers, and technical leads across engagements.
• Support pre-sales activities, solution shaping, estimations, and proposal development.

AI & Advanced Analytics

• Define architecture patterns for GenAI and AI-driven analytics solutions.
• Drive adoption of AWS AI services and integration of GenAI capabilities into enterprise data platforms.
• Collaborate with data science teams to enable scalable AI and ML solutions.

Skills and attributes for success

• 12–18+ years of overall IT experience, including 8+ years of experience in Data Architecture and Cloud Architecture, with a proven track record of designing and delivering enterprise-scale data platforms on AWS.
• The candidate should possess deep expertise in AWS Data & Analytics services including Amazon S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena, EMR, Lambda, Lake Formation, Kinesis, and IAM.
• Must have extensive experience architecting Data Lakes, Lakehouse Architectures, Data Warehouses, and Real-Time Data Platforms.
• A strong understanding of data modelling (conceptual, logical, and physical), data governance, data security, metadata management, data quality, and data lineage is essential.
• The role requires experience leading large-scale cloud modernization and data migration initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder management, executive communication, and consulting skills to engage effectively with business and technology leadership teams.
• Hands-on experience in designing and implementing Generative AI-enabled data architectures, including building data foundations for Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks, vector databases, semantic search, knowledge graph solutions, and AI-powered analytics platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and AWS Certified Data Analytics/Data Engineer are highly desirable.
• Experience with modern data platform technologies including Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Airflow, DBT, and Matillion will be advantageous
• Experience with data governance frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

Education:

• Degree: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
