The Position

We Make Medicines! Behind every product sold by Roche is Pharma Global Technical Operations (PT). Starting with Phase I of the development process and continuing through to product maturity, PT makes lifesaving medicines at 11 locations, with the support of partners from around the world. Information (IT) and Automation Technology (OT) teams are key in producing and delivering medicine to patients. The organization is currently undergoing a transformation towards digitalization and advancing fundamental elements to meet future needs, such as using new technologies.

The Position:

We are looking for a Systems Process Engineer (SPE) to act as an expert in the 1-Stop-Shop and be part of the support, continuous improvement, and onboarding and adoption of value streams. The SPE has a profound process understanding and collaborates with the Business Support Community to continuously improve business processes and underlying IT applications. You will act as a trusted adviser of the end-user for any kind of inquiry as well as a bridge between the end user and other roles in the various support layers. You can raise incidents on behalf of the user area or work with managers to train users. In projects, you will also represent the interests of the systems user group and have the responsibility of coordinating and bringing input from the area of responsibility to the project - communicating project goals, information, and progress back to the business areas. This position is based on-site in Genentech's Kentucky Distribution Center (KDC) in Louisville, KY.

Your Key Responsibilities

End User Operation Support:

  • Perform 24x7 Level 1 On Site/Remote support and troubleshooting of applications, primarily focused on SAP R3 and ASPIRE S4/EWM but could expand to other systems.
  • Act as Point of Contact for End User/business stakeholders in terms of business requests and IT related issues.
  • Escalate issues to the Level 2 and/or Global Team Support, supporting issue clarification on request and following up on tickets to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Proactively monitor system interfaces, analyze events with interface partners, initialize and perform troubleshooting.
  • Support site audits and inspections, planned/unplanned events, implementation of corrections, etc. as a Subject Matter Expert.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Support/lead continuous improvement opportunities related to IT OT applications/systems.
  • Regular exchange with the network and BPMs on support cases, best practices, and process improvement proposals with network relevance.
  • Help the End User to submit new ideas for process improvements, allowing a comprehensive approach for assessing both the process interdependencies as well as impact to all underlying systems.

Onboarding and Training:

  • Coordinate and conduct End User training.
  • Support user authorization workflows.

Who You Are

  • You must have a Bachelors Degree in Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field.

  • You must have experience in biotech/pharmaceutical manufacturing.

  • You are someone with 7+ years of experience with SAP R3, and experience or familiarity with SAP HANA is a plus. You must be knowledgeable about integration with enterprise business systems (SAP, MES, LIMS, etc.) and data integrity concepts.

  • You have strong analytical skills for effective troubleshooting and problem solving.

  • You have excellent customer service skills and delivery through agile mindset, stability, flexibility, and speed.

This position is not eligible for relocation.
