The Opportunity

The PT Supply Chain North America Organization (PTSN) contributes to a better society by connecting across our network to supply therapeutics that give life and hope to our patients. The Logistics Management and Supply Chain Compliance organization is responsible for maintaining a resilient and agile domestic and International logistical network to move our material and medicines. We also ensure corporate-wide compliance with trade regulations in accordance with governmental agency requirements, which include US Customs and Border Protection, Partner Government Agencies, and the Bureau of Industry and Security for pharmaceutical project and research material, and other company related materials imported or exported into or out of the United States.

The Logistics and Trade Operations Specialist is responsible for providing technical and operational support for the Logistics and Trade Compliance teams to ensure efficient and compliant operations. The prime responsibility as a Logistics and Trade Operations Specialist is to support the daily operational needs across the department through transactional activities, intake and coordination of customer requests and issue management, and process troubleshooting and improvement.

What You’ll Do

Your general accountability is defined by the Roche corporate directives, guidelines and operating principles, as well as by the company's core values and behaviors. In the particular role you will have the following major responsibilities:

  • Manage the intake, prioritization, and resolution of customer requests and escalate issues across all logistics and trade compliance processes Guide and enable key users through transactional activities,ensuring process adherence and t supporting master data management

  • Lead end-to-end continuous improvement initiatives across the Supply Chain

  • Cultivate and leverage partnerships with key business stakeholders across a wide range of business functions, including key logistics and trade customers across GNE, the US Warehouse network, Direct Materials Procurement to monitor and prioritize actions, ensuring uninterrupted supply

  • Design, optimize, and implement logistics and trade process workflows, establishing new procedures that enhance efficiency, compliance, and scalability

  • Serve as the primary contact and utilize systems (ERP, trade management, and logistics) to generate data reports, analyze metrics, and interpret KPIs, providing insights into the operational status of the logistics and trade processes

  • Develop and maintain Genentech logistics and trade operational guidance procedures and/or work instructions as needed

  • Coordinate global transportation and trade-related operational activities, ensuring the balance of on-time delivery, damage prevention, compliance, and cost-effectiveness, through cross-functional communication and alignment within Roche/GNE and with third-party partners

  • Proactively monitor and maintain process health of logistics and trade operational activities,developing data reports to publish key performance indicators

  • Analyze operational issues or process gaps to identify root causes; implement solutions and drive continuous improvement

  • Manage communications with internal and external stakeholders to ensure processes are followed and service expectations are met

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, logistics, or equivalent, advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred

  • Seven or more years of experience in Logistics Management, Trade Compliance or equivalent

  • Experience in pharmaceutical and/or cold chain logistics

  • Preferred experience in biotech/pharmaceutical supply chain (Logistics, Trade, and Intercompany)

  • Experience with SAP S/4 HANA including eWM, TM, GTS is a plus

  • Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to make high-impact decisions autonomously

  • Collaborative mindset, ability to build and maintain cross-functional business relationships

  • Strong analytical skills for effective troubleshooting and problem-solving

  • Ability to anticipate problems, recommend solutions and implement mitigation plans

  • Certification(s) in Lean Production System or Agile practices are a strong plus

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $100,700 - $187,100. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
