As a Maintenance Data Specialist, you will manage Facilities and Engineering Master Data requests, requests include but are not limited to; Asset/Equipment creation/change, Functional Location updates, and Bill of Materials (BOM). Process request in accordance with current quality standards and business processes. Perform technical review and verification of Facilities and Engineering Master Data requests. Responsibilities include:

  • Reconcile requested data and materials against current materials in inventory using SAP and associated databases for new part creation.

  • Work with the original equipment manufacturer/vendor to document material specifications for new part entry and procurement specification creation. Identify replacement materials for items deemed obsolete based on current technical material specifications. Walk down mechanical systems using P&ID's identifying components and replacement parts.

  • Evaluate requests and assess parts for use on equipment/systems prior to putting on BOM. Prepare complete BOMs for equipment and systems as required. Manage parts and BOM request required to support site Engineering Projects. Initiate Functional Location and Equipment request as required in support of master data creation and Bill of Material (BOM) creation/development.

  • Coordinate and Collaborate with GNE Regional and Global Master Data Teams to learn and share new process rollouts. Support Change Record, CAPA, and Discrepancy for data related activities.

Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • You have an AS/BS degree in STEM or equivalent with +4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to identify industrial mechanical components (pumps, motors, belts, actuators, bearings, gaskets, seals, etc.) and instrumentation (flow meters, conductivity/resistivity meters, RTD/temp sensors, transmitters, interface modules, etc.) in the field.

  • Ability to interpret technical specifications of components, manufacturer and vendor recommendations.

  • Understand nomenclature for industrial parts and equipment as indicated on Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&IDs).

  • Knowledge of all master data objects required to support SAP PM (bills of material, equipment Master, functional locations, etc.).
    Good understanding and ability to comply with industry standards and cGMP requirements.

  • Proficiency with computers and applications such as Microsoft Excel (including data transformations and formulas), Google Tools and SAP.

  • Exposure to SAP Transactional Data and general concepts is a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.

  • Exceptional organization, time management, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Must be self-motivated / results driven with a strong sense of accountability.

Physical conditions and PPE requirements:

  • Expected to be on feet for 8 to 10 hours a day.

  • Climb upwards of 6 flights of stairs a day to maneuver within the manufacturing facility.

  • Climb heights up to 30 feet by ladder.

  • Lift up to 40lbs may be required.

  • Environment requires that gowning in the form of hospital scrubs, bunny suits, gloves and steel toe boots be worn. Also, no make-up or jewelry can be worn when working in the clean room environment.

  • Work in clean room environment with large mechanical equipment, piping, and pumps connecting to tanks serviced by high-pressure steam, water and air together this creates a loud environment.

  • Work with electrical systems 480VAC and below

  • Work with hazardous materials and chemicals.

  • Work on pressurized gasses and liquids

  • Work on cryogenic systems

  • Work on steam systems

  • Wear air purifying respirator and wear necessary hearing protection.

  • Crawl, kneel and stoop and work in small work spaces.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of Oceanside, CA is $73,500- $115,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, level, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
