2026 Summer Intern - DDC
Department Summary
We are the AI Enablement team within the Computational Sciences Center of Excellence. We develop various AI tools that empower our scientists and accelerate drug discovery. We work with LLMs, Agents, foundational models, embeddings and large volumes of scientific data.
This internship position is located in South San-Francisco or it can be fully remote.
The Opportunity
Build large scale training repository for foundational models
Extend the DINO/CLIP training to use multimodal data
Write evaluation scripts on various internal benchmark datasets
Present and publish your work to at ML Conferences
Program Highlights
Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)
A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.
Who You Are
Required Education
Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).
Must have attained a Master's Degree.
Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student).
Must have attained a PhD.
Required Majors
Computer Science
Required Skills:
Python programming with familiarity of PyTorch and Transformers library.
Understanding of Machine Learning and basics of Deep Learning
Model training, fine-tuning (LoRA), and hyper-parameter tunning
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to write technical report / research paper
Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of the state of California is $50.00 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
